Sheesh, this is even worse than XM 8's editing. At least there they had the excuse that the deleted songs weren't from the relevant decade, but that doesn't wash with XM 7 cutting Dan Hill's "Sometimes When We Touch" (the 9/16/78 LDD), which was a Top Five hit only six months earlier. And they weren't exactly pressed for time to fill the allotted three hour space.

Thank goodness we'll be able to hear the 9/16/78 countdown this weekend on terrestrial radio.

This Saturday on XM will be September 24, 1977, but what's the point if they're going to edit and delete the trivia questions, jingles, and extras. XM sucks!!!!

SXM is playing AT40 from 9/24/1977 right now. I just tuned in during the middle of the show, and they have left in one of the extras ("Love Will Keep Us Together"). I'll have to catch the replay tomorrow night to see if they kept the other extra ("Rubberband Man"). Other than that, they're still up to their tricks of cutting bumper jingles and teasers.

Rubberband Man was played by XM. But it is tough to listen to the show when XM continues to edit the shows. They don't even play the ending theme for Hour 1 or Hour 2. Then you can't even tell you have started the next hour.
I recorded the 9/16/78 show this morning from station WBBG in Youngstown, OH. The same show was played last Saturday on XM. Comparing the 2, what a difference. Not only did XM remove the LDD ("Sometimes When We Touch-Dan Hill") but they also deleted both "Letters to Casey" segments. I had hoped the AT40 shows would improve after John Clay left, but not so.

I remember the good old days when I used to worry that the 3:20 limit on recording WAVs would cause me to lose the end of a show (never quite happened, though one came in with just a few seconds to spare).

Today's AT40 the 80's lasted 2:48 Hours. Very edited! At least you guys heard it. My XM Inno has an increasingly infuriating habit of doing the "scanning files" thing and resetting to channel 1 at random times, including the last two Sunday mornings which meant that it didn't record the morning AT40-the 80s for the last two weeks. (I did get the 9/20/80 show when replayed last night, though.)

I dont even use my XM tuner anymore. I found out the sound qualty is like night an day comparing it to my Dish network SATV recvr. <---the audio comin out of that makes my XM tuner sound like an internet stream on a dialup connection circa 1999. Not quite that bad but its an amazing difference.....but alas, now they are editing the $H1t out of it, makin it slightly less valuable.

This week's show on SXM is the same as Premiere -- Oct. 2, 1971

Eh, I typically don't care for hearing the same countdown the same weekend on both SXM and Premiere, but SXM hasn't done 1971 in about three months so it's due. At least there isn't much they can cut out of this one; only one extra, Rod Stewart's "Reason to Believe", which, being contemporaneous with the rest of the countdown, may stay in.

This weeks AT40 show on XM 8 is from 9/29/84.
And I'm assuming the 70s show is from 10/2/71.
