It should air again next Sunday night at 8pm Eastern. 80's on 8 usually replays the previous week's show on Sunday nights.

August 16, 2009 - SXM 80s on 8 is playing AT40 from 8/15/1981 the same show on terrestial radio this weekend!!!! I caught the tail end of SXM's broadcast this morning. Once again, we were treated to the full version of the AT40 outro theme, and, since the show ended about a quarter after the hour, I suspect all extras (Archives, Top 3 Recap and LDD's) were intact. One little quibble: As Casey intro'd the new No. 1 song ("Endless Love"), he said that it marked the first time a song from a movie had hit the top since Blondie's "Call Me" in April 1980. Apparently, he forgot about "9 To 5" (I believe this was from the movie of the same name) which Dolly Parton sent to No. 1 earlier that year, and also Olivia Newton-John's "Magic" from "Xanadu" which was at No. 1 in August 1980. I also recall Casey making the same mistake on "America's Top 10" when intro'ing "Endless Love." Sadly, for Dolly and Olivia, this was one mistake that was never corrected.

Anyone know whom we can email to thank for the improved quality? Of course, the raised rates ARE their thanks, I guess.

I think the only person to thank is Jon Zellner. If he didn't leave SXM, we'd still have butchered AT40s. But Because he left, no one else wants to bother w/ editing the shows, thus they are left intact.
Just my theory but I think a good one.

Never thought I'd say this, but SXM 70s could take a few lessons from their 80s-slanted sibling regarding AT40. No, I don't mean moving the show to the early morning the way 80s did, but not chopping off the closing theme and not hacking off portions of the split-logo jingles. If only 70s could be blessed with someone to bring them back into line the way 80s was. Paging John Clay.....Paging John Clay. Heck, SXM has even dropped the "modern Casey" bumpers promoting the show, subbing their own "70s on 7" jingles in their place. Sheesh!!!!

This show was orginally aired on XM during the Dabue of AT40 in the Marathon on that 1st weekend of August 2006. It previously aired 2 years ago in '07.
