Right now,I'm listening to the countdown from 7/26/80-Casey played a song called "King Of The Hill" by Rick Pinette & Oak-Casey stated they were the first recording act from the state of Maine to have a top 40 hit-Not true-Seven years earlier,in 1973,a singer & comedian from Farmington,Maine named Jud Strunk had his only top 40 hit called "Daisy A Day"-Therefore,Jud Strunk is officially the first artist from Maine to reach the top 40 in the rock era.

SXM 80s is playing 7/28/84 - A countdown which is only 2 weeks earlier than this weekend's Premiere show (8/11/84) SXM 80's seems to be getting better with its AT40 broadcasts. Last week, on the 1980 show, all "extras" (Top 3 Recap, Archives and LDD's) were left in, and on this week's 1984 show, we got to hear the closing theme in its entirety!!! Thanks SXM, keep up the good work!!

Tomorrow's SXM 7 show takes us back to 1979, if the DJ I just heard is to be believed.

Jud Strunk was born in New York, not Maine. Rick Pinette & Oak are indeed the first recording act to hit the top 40 from Maine.

Aug 08, 2009 - SXM 70s on 7 is playing AT40 from 08/04/1979 with recaps included! As were the three Archives extras and both LDD's, even though they sent the show over three hours. And they played the whole closing theme song--well, sort of, anyway. Let's just say that if you've ever wondered what a mashup of "Shuckatoom" with the Eagles' "Heartache Tonight" sounds like, we just found out!

Caseys starting the top 15 so I havent heard the ending yet. I always use my SATV receiver an rewind it back to the beginning of the show, so I started recording/listening at 9am.

August 9, 2009 - SXM 80s on 8 is playing AT40 from 8/9/1986 I should have recorded this! Jimminy Christmas! Just hours ago I "lost" the bid. The highest bidder beat me by a couple of dollars! I was trying to buy this on remastered CD and on vinyl, you know. Oh well, ya win some then ya lose some. Thankfully I have the week prior to this episode, though. One question though, will this air again? If so when?
