I noticed that XM 80's on 8 Did Not skip two LDD's for the 6/7/86 show:
NEVER SURRENDER - COREY HART (between # 16 and # 15) YOU'RE THE INSPIRATION - CHICAGO (between # 6 and # 5)
So, they are almost approaching to play the programs “exactly as we first heard them, but this time no commercials"

Probably because the LDDs were hits just a year or two earlier or highly "familiar" as defined by Jon Zellner.

But the noon broadcast would overlap Rick Dees!!! At least your '70s' show is aired THREE times. The rest of us have 1 shot to get the 80s an 90s shows. I do believe though it is aired at a rediculous hour.....7am?!? At least w/ my SAT DVR I can set it to auto tune an then when I wake up (as long as I wake up before 9am), I can rewind it back to the beginning of the show.
Are the AT40 80s shows now edited to fit in a 3 hour block? Or do they still run over?

i think it depends on what year and what the extras are...there was an early 80's episode a few weeks back that took out the at40 archives and ldd, but last week ran about 3:10. i wish they just left them alone and play them in whole

^ Yep. It seems more a question of keeping the show "pure" (just 80s) and not having repeated songs (last week's top 3), rather than a concern over run time. They are also careful to insert at least one insipid SXM 80s bumper in the place of one or both of the "Casey's coast to coast/American Top 40" jingles at every break.
As for the time, it's 7 am EASTERN. No way in hell I'm getting up at 6 am my time, so I've had to wait for the next week's repeat, with no room for error.

Now that Sirius XM is butchering the countdowns from the 80's,I'm much better off listening to them on terrestrial radio.

Interesting fact Paul Mccartney and Wings had the #1 song on AT40 70's (terrestial radio) this week "Silly Love Songs" - 6/19/76 and on (Sirius XM) "Band on the Run" - 6/8/74
