June 14, 2009 - Sirius XM is playing AT40 from 6/9/84 I guess SXM doesn't really listen to its own edits. Just before playing this week's #34 (by the Scorpions), they played Casey's recorded commercial saying his Big Eighties countdowns play every Sunday at noon in the East. Then, in keeping with recent practice, they failed to play the AT40 Extra by Tommy James and the Shondells (Hanky Panky), even though they played Casey's "teaser" for the song where he announced that later on he will tell us the story about a group that formed in high school but their record didn't gain popularity until a D.J. played their record three years later, as an oldie. Finally, they skipped the last LDD. |

Boy this show takes me back. Currently listening to #28. A lot of these same songs were featured on a Countdown America show I remember recording way back then.

SXM (June 20, 2009) is playing AT40 from 6/19/1976 which is the same show from terrestial radio last week.........

At least,we'll hear "The Thrill Is Gone" as part of the countdown instead of an optional extra.

SXM is playing the show from June 20, 1981 this morning on Channel 8.

XM 70's on 7 is playing 6/22/74, same show as terrestral radio.

Today,Sirius XM is playing the countdown from 6/22/74,which is also airing on terrestrial radio this weekend.

Just two weeks ago SXM played AT40 from 6/8/1974, that's two June 1974 shows in three weeks............

Why does SXM keep playing AT shows that we are heard within the same week or within two weeks of being on terrestial radio?

At least SXM played the original closing for this show (or as much of it as they would let us hear), as opposed to the "Shuckatoom" outro now being used on the Premiere version of "Classic AT40."

June 28, 2009 - SXM 8 on 8 is playing AT40 from 6/25/88 during the week of June 25th 1988 Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana is #2 one week away from being #1. Dirty Diana would be the fifth number one hit for Michael off of his "Bad" album
