Did I miss something, or did XM-8 just skip #28 in today's countdown? They played #29 (It's a Love Thing by Whispers), then the LDD (Freebird), then they played #27 (Sweetheart by Frankie & the Knockouts). Very frustrating . . . To be honest, I have it on as background today,so I didn't notice this, but I'll go back and listen - I'm recording it right now - but the closer I listen to the broadcast, the more I notice a "ticking" or "hiccup" kind of sound - almost like a tenth of a second of dead air or something - it's hard to describe, but it's VERY annoying - does anyone else notice this either?

Thanks for the confirmation. On a lighter note, I wonder which AT40 show will XM-8 replay this evening, since last week they replayed Sunday morning's show that same evening.

You're correct - completely skipped #28! I just listened back to it. I'm 'guessing" they will repeat today's show tonight...based on what they did last week.

Aaaarrrrghh My DirecTV box just reset during the recording. When do they replay the shows on 8? I was really hoping to listen to this one on a plane Thursday morning. This week's show usually doesn't replay until the following Sunday night at 9 pm ET... I messed up here...AT40 usually plays at 8 pm ET on Sundays on 80s on 8. Usually was a replay of last week's show...but now, who knows?

This weekend we got the same 1978 countdown as Premiere ran last week, a replay of the same 1983 countdown as last week, and they also reran the same Rick Dees show from 1999 two weeks in a row (on March 29 and April 5.) I hope they get back on track next week and run the aforementioned 1981 show at 8 PM--with "You Better You Bet" in there. (Earlier, XM-8 did correct errors in the previous week's noon broadcasts when they replayed them the following week in the evening.)

Well, the XM AT40 editing gremlin is at it again. During today's broadcast of the show from April 14, 1979 (which is another REPEAT by the way), at the end of #28, Casey said "Ever wonder what recording stars make?" Then, SXM played their "Seventies on 7 jingle," then the audio cut to Casey answering his question about how much an artist can make on album sales, record sales, writing credit, and touring. Then XM played song #27, then Casey said, "Now let's answer that question about how much money a recording artist can make." Then song #26 started.
It is hard for me to understand how it can be so hard for XM to just play the show in the correct order (including Casey's commentary) unedited. Is it hopeless to expect that?

Aside from editing,at least they're finally running a 1979 countdown-I wish Premiere would consider airing the four hour countdowns from October 1978 to December 1979.

70's on 7 is playing 04/14/79 this week Very interesting!! Three weeks with AT40 shows from successive years. We went from 1977 to 1978 to 1979, and after SXM all but ignored the late-70s AT40 era in the early months of the merger. They really do need to stop editing down the shows, though. That mid-70s closing theme just isn't the same if we don't get to hear the singers belt out that fabled S-word toward the end of the song.
