Well, in the replay of 3-9-85 tonight they played the first hour twice! Form earlier posts I got the impression they're doing something about these ridiculous errors! Has anyone actually gotten a response acknowledging their carelessness??

Well, in the replay of 3-9-85 tonight they played the first hour twice! Form earlier posts I got the impression they're doing something about these ridiculous errors! Has anyone actually gotten a response acknowledging their carelessness?? The countdown came out fine on my radio, though I wasn't actually listening to it at the time; I recorded it last night for later playback, and all 40 of the songs appear to be present and in order.

Actually, the countdown played had an additional extra not listed here: Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man". It also had the Los Angeles version of "High School USA" (of the 28 regional ones recorded!)

Cheocheo: Were you listening to XM radio? I listened to every song and I didn't hear any repeats at all. On last evening's (Sunday) show, it played correctly also.
I can't imagine how a single XM broadcast could be messed up for some and not for everyone else!?!?

Folks, I promise you. I got the first hour (the first AT40 hour: 48 minutes) three times! I heard Falcon and the Snowman etc. all the way through I'm on Fire, and then it repeated! After the third time it jumped to hour four and concluded correctly on time. Even stranger is that the song title displayed was what it should have been, counting down through the twenties and teens, but the songs were not matching!
It was XM, but I am an online-only subscriber. I was listening through their webplayer. I assume, though, that it is the same programming. It was from 7:00 pm central to 10:12 pm on Sunday night.
Weirder still is that the first play of this show (the week before) was perfectly fine. I need to listen to both plays in order to record all of the show. It takes me about 55 seconds to replace the CD in my very slow standalone CD recorder, and now that XM abbreviates the theme music in between hours, I don't have enough time, and some gets cut off. Therefore, I record the first hour and the last one and a half hours on Sunday day, and then the middle hour and a half on the following Sunday night. That makes it especially irritating that it's fouled up. This happened a couple weeks ago with 1988. I was all set to change the CD and I heard Twilight World (Swing Out Sister) again and again.
I'm not crazy and I even have the botched CD recordings to prove it. Does anyone else listen on XM online?

Thats exactly the way I have to record it. My recorder is slow too. I record the middle part on Sunday day and the first and last parts on sunday night the following week. I dont get home from church in time to do it the other way. I missed the first half of 3/9/85 because I was gone and didnt get home in time to record it.

Cheocheo: Thanks for the clarification that you were listening online. I listened via the satellite broadcast, and never heard any of the boo boos you reported. Hard to imagine XM plays different versions over different media though.
Hope this week's program works better for you!

At40john: I knew there'd be someone else doing it the same way! One of these days I'll use some kind of software (Audacity) but I don't want to deal with mp3s, editing, etc. Would love for the full 90-second end-of-hour theme to come back!
papathree: Thanks, I hope so too! The only thing I can think of is that there is some mismatch in their streaming signal and clock because when the hour would repeat, it would cut off in the middle of a song as if a clock reset. I read earlier that someone edits each week into individual tracks, but the edit wouldn't be in the middle of a song.
(Been trolling this chat site for a year now - happy finally to be on board.)

This week's 70's show is a repeat of the program that aired last year from 3/29/1975. What a shame.

I tuned in this afternoon for the first time since late January-The editing wasn't as intense this time.

Very cool. I was hoping all week for a 1986.
I hope there's nothing screwy about the broadcast.

Aaaarrrrghh My DirecTV box just reset during the recording. When do they replay the shows on 8? I was really hoping to listen to this one on a plane Thursday morning.

Very cool. I was hoping all week for a 1986. I hope there's nothing screwy about the broadcast. I only caught the last hour, and there was nothing screwy as far as I could hear. Sure, some of the AT40 jingles were replaced with 80s on 8 jingles, but at least they let the closing theme play out to the very end.
