SXM 70s is playing 3/13/1976 today I just finished listening to the show, and it was a pretty awesome countdown. SXM seems to have cut down on at least some of the massive editing (some teasers, jingles and themes were left in). However, I found it a bit tacky when SXM cut away just as the mellow-synth end theme segued into "Shuckatoom". I heard the first one or two notes of "Shuckatoom" then it was cut to a 70s on 7 jingle.

Yes they should have let the shukatoon theme play out, but maybe someone is finally listening. They did leave in the teasers which was not happening before. Premeires version of this show had lots of edits, more than most premeire shows. If SXM leaves in the teasers like they did this week, that would be a big improvement.

Then we should be getting 3/9/85 at 8 PM next week, as they're apparently back on their schedule of repeating the previous week's noon show at that time--to the point where last week they reran the 2/27/88 show in the evening for a second week. (At least they corrected the errors in the previous week's broadcast, though.)

The original show that aired on 3/13/71 was based on the Billboard Chart from 3/20/71. That's why XM lists the show as being from 3/20/71. All of the early AT40 shows used the "next week's chart" as their basis for the countdown. This changed after the show from 4/24/71. After that date, the show's air date matched the chart release date.

If only AT40 would have known how they would confuse so many people by not matching the Billboard chart date in their first year of the show.

...yes and they repeated #17 and #16. What is their problem? Is no one actually monitoring what is programmed? How can we email to complain. New, increased rates for this???

SXM 80s is playing 3/20/82 this week. WOW!!!! ;D I believe that's the first 1982 countdown they've aired since the SXM merger. The last time SXM (when it was just XM) had an AT40 show from '82 was probably sometime last summer, if I remember correctly.
