Big glitch at #7. At the very start of I Feel Love it jump right to the intro to the Ringo Starr extra after #6. Then goes right back into I Feel Love.

WOW! A lot of skipping during Papa Was A Rolling Stone by the Temptations. Maybe we need to buy a new turntable for 70's on 7.

Today is Bob Gaudio's 76th birthday, of the 4 Seasons, and one of the archives songs on AT40 on the 70's on 7 was December 1963 (#1 in March 1976)--how appropriate!!

This week: November 17, 1979. In only its seventh week on the Hot 100, "Heartache Tonight" was already dropping out of the #1 spot. Wow.

This week: November 17, 1979. This is Casey Kasem on American Top 40 in Hollywood, well now, I have the hit by the group who perform on the most expensive stage set in the history of rock, a 60 foot wide spaceship that cost them more than $300,000, picture this if you will, you're sitting in a concert hall, the lights are out, and suddenly there's a sound of space music starting softly, but building louder and louder into an exciting crescendo, and as you look toward the, dimly lit stage, you can just barely make out something that looks like a space vehicle, the top of it begins to rise, and inside being lifted up on a huge platform, is the group you came to see, the lights on the bottom and the top of the spaceship, go on, the lasers begin to shoot out in all directions from the ship, lighting up the entire hall, fire is shooting from the back of the ship, and a rear screen projector is filled with laser lights, spelling out messages to the crowd, and this is how the Electric Light Orchestra begins their concert, the cost, $300,000 just to build the set, the most expensive set for a rock group, we know of, and now, here is ELO, at #37 in the countdown, the Electric Light Orchestra debut with, Confusion...

What happened halfway thru? I had this on in the garage while I was outside stringing up Christmas lights.

I thought that might be what the reference was to. I didn’t know if it was that or if there was a major mistake in the show or something.

November 22, 1975 this week. Pay close attention about halfway through. You all know what I mean... Said Casey, "Didn't you just know this would happen? Here's a case where the chart position and the song title are one and the same. At #18 with a bullet, here's, that's right, 'Eighteen with a Bullet' and moving up. Pete Wingfield". I wonder if this was entirely a coincidence or "organic" move, or someone in the Billboard chart department decided it would be neat to fudge things a bit to put the song at its titular position; it was moving up from #23 into the top 20 so it didn't look obviously manipulated. The song peaked at #15 the following week.
