Ahh, one of my favorite Casey goofs. When announcing the #1 song (Knock Three Times by Dawn) Casey says that the group is an 8 member group (7 guys and one girl) from Philadelphia--after reading off a list of other acts from the city of Brotherly Love.
I wonder where the staff got this info and did they ever correct it on air --OR-- did they just pretend it didn't happen?!

^ I think it was eventually corrected on air. However it’s not really a mistake since the first few Dawn releases were actually by studio musicians with Tony Orlando singing lead. Telma and Joyce aren’t on those first few singles.

Tony Orlando was under contract with another label doing promotion work I believe. So to protect Tony, the record company (Bell) used real "fake news" by misleading the press and AT40 about the members of the group by not mentioning Tony as lead singer or member of the group.

Telma and Joyce aren’t on those first few singles. Yeah, Casey was just saying what he was (mis)led to believe at the time. I don’t think it was until “Tie a Yellow Ribbon...” two years later that Dawn had a big hit in which they were officially credited as the familiar trio.

And while they are at it, can they go back and fix
"From Ireland, Van Morrison, number 29 this wink, and hanging in there, Domino."
I mean, before I save it to my ATt40 folder. Thanks guys!

Another excellent 1976 show! Full versions of Action and (finally) Money Honey! Crappy edits to the Bee Gees, Roxy Music and... only 2 minutes of Eric Carmen Editing songs so we could hear Wayne Newton. UGH!
