I sure hope that JJ doesn't get fired for spilling the beans early for this week's show! (1975) He shouldn't, but someone there should at least get slapped on the wrist for playing 1975 again for the second time in less than a month. (The two years we've heard in between from them, 1972 and 1976, are Premiere's two years this weekend.) While we're slapping wrists, and talking about the 1975 shows played within a month... On the earlier show, Casey told a long story about Labelle's first hit, "I Sold My Heart to the Junkman," commenting on how the girls said they would NEVER have recorded such a song if they'd known that the word junkman was also slang for drug dealer. Then he played their #1 smash about a prostitute!!!

Uh-oh; there's Part 2 of Got To Give It Up by Marvin Gaye on AT40 (again). I remember hearing this in 1977 and thinking where did they get this version. It wasn't until a few years later that I discovered that Motown had split the 'long' version of the song into two parts on the 45--and AT40 kept playing the 'wrong' part.

May 19, 1979 (edited version) Not only did they edit out a pre-1970s extra, as they usually do, but they also cut Terry Jacks' "Seasons In the Sun", which was an Archives extra, while leaving in the other Archives. (I realise that not everyone will complain about that, but it's not typical practice.)

This week's show is May 26, 1973. If it feels a little redundant, well, that's because they just did 1973 four weeks ago, and last week Premiere ran it as well.
I was hoping for 1978, which SXM hasn't played since February. Since then they've done 1971, 74, 75, 77, and 79 twice each, and 1973 three times.

June 3, 1978 this week; the same as Premiere's B show. While we were long overdue for 1978, now I wish they'd waited one more week.
