October 26, 1974 this week. As for #17 (Carefree Highway-Gordon Lightfoot), Casey mentioned the letter he received that quotes Guinness Book of Records holder for Jive Dancing: "a couple from England named Gordon Lightfoot and his partner Kathleen Fowler; the record being 40 consecutive hours of non-stop dance". Then Casey says they checked with Gordon Lightfoot (the singer) office, and he's NOT the same guy mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records. Well, the AT40 staff didn't need to. The hitmaker is Canadian, different nationality from what the Guinness book says. |

SXM gave us something that Premiere never has: back to back four hour 70s shows, with all four hours aired (except for the 1955 hit "Rock Around the Clock", an extra in the 11/4/78 show that was deleted from their broadcast, as is everything pre-1970.)

Since Christmas is less than a week away too bad they didn't play one of the two Christmas specials AT40 produced. Come to think of it does anybody know has SiriusXM ever played either show?

They haven't played them because almost all of the songs predate the 70's and they don't play any song from the countdown that isn't from the 70's.

They are very strange over there, I think Casey is an "exclusive" to the 70's channel.
