Some weird scheduling on SXM's part. There were no 1974 AT40s for four whole months (May-August), and now we get it twice in September?

I really don't think anyone pays any attention at SXM. I think its more of a "find a show we haven't aired in awhile that falls within this window" and they go with it.

I don't know why, but I like Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep which I'd never heard until a few years ago on the countdowns. Funny thing is, the 70's channel plays it occasionally now. Odd because they pretty much stick to nothing but hits.

Yeah but it's not a major 70's hit. Of course I was only a few months old when the song came out, so maybe it was more popular than I recall. ?

Love the 1970 Casey Kasem, he had a weird inflection in his voice. When he intros Candi Staton's "Stand By Your Man" he says "Here's Candi Staton and 'Stand By Yo Man". Or Joe Cocker's "Cry Me A River" as "Cry Me A Riva".
I also particularly liked his intro of "Black Magic Woman", he gives three possible definitions of "Abraxas" then sort of sighs and says "Pay your money, take your choice. Here's Santana with Black..Magic..WOman..."
