This past weekend I thought I was listening to a 2 hour Terry and Susan Jacks special (get connection? If not scroll down) instead of AT40.
For an overall show - the worst quality I've heard. The 1974 shows have some of worst segments - muffled songs and left/right audio disappears.
Oh - the Terry and Susan Jacks reference - got it now? Before each went solo - were members of what group that hit #2 in 1970 with - Which Way You Going Billy.
The group name which was well suited for last week's Sirius XM broadcast - The Poppy Family.

Question for fellow purist who record the shows for private library. Let's say that last week's show was originally aired sped up - do you keep it that way on your copy - or slow it down to sound normal?

After hearing today's 09.25.76 progarm - guess Sirius XM found two scratched up AT40 album sets at the yard sale.

Again!?! They just did 1972 three weeks ago! Whoever programs SXM really likes the early 70's. As I posted earlier they jump to the mid to late 70's for a week or two then jump back to the early 70's for several weeks.

Should we assume that SXM might be trying to turn its audience off enough that the ratings of this show will drop and they in turn, can drop the show? If I didn't know any better, I might assume that to be the case...

If I didn't know any better, I might assume that to be the case... Hadn't thought of that but maybe? They must have to pay something to air it, so if they drop it they could replace it with a show of their own like the 80's channel does. That's what they had before the merge.

Is it safe to say this weekend will specifically be 10/7/72?

Is it safe to say this weekend will specifically be 10/7/72? Since I haven't heard any other year, we can for now assume it's 1972 pending any further announcement. **10/7/72 would make the most sense date-wise, though I guess they could skip ahead to 10/14 which would actually be preferable since it wouldn't completely duplicate Premiere. 9/30/72 is out because it was a special countdown with a lot of 60s songs that SXM 7 would delete. **Someone posted on the XM fan board that they heard on Tuesday it will be 1979 instead. Good choice if true.

They have not played the same show in well over a year now and until 2011 had played the same show on a regular basis.

Or maybe Premiere added 1972 as their secondary show after originally scheduling 1978. And after SXM already had their list settled, assuming they're going with 1972

This week: Oct 6, 1979 instead of the show for this week in 1972.

It's the 10/6/79 show. They chopped off the last weeks top three, but can't they edit a little better? At least make it sound like the show isn't started midway through?

And as a result, we did not get to hear Casey thank Robert W. Morgan for guest hosting the previous week. He was from Australia IIRC. BTW, "Please Don't Go", the first #1 song of 1980 debuted in that show. Gotta be the only first #1 song of a year to debut in September.

The edit is very easy, do the intro and before he says "Let's start off with a recap..." cut it, and pick it up when he says "and now let's start this weeks countdown......" Very easy to do, but I guess just cutting the entire first segment is a lot easier.
