Me too!! I emailed programming@xmradio.com the other day to check on the progress and got nothing. The last response that I got was earlier this year from Kandi on 80s on 8 and they "are working on it".
From what I have heard, management there is trying to save money, complaining that they are not making enough revenue to afford DJs right now on the 70s, 80s and 90s. What this would mean for AT40, I don't know but if the shows were to cost more than the Billboard Chart rights they supposedly have secured, I wouldn't count on AT40 anytime soon. Nobody at XM is saying anything about AT40 that I have heard. On the other hand, AT40's parent company, Clear Channel is a partner with XM and the return of commercials to some of the channels that the company will administer there as a result of a dispute resolution may be a positive sign that AT40 may be broadcast one of these days.
Still, I am going to be cautiously optimistic that they may have AT40 there one of these days but this may be sometime after all of us are gone. I'm going to work on building my collection instead.
As I said earlier, the only thing we could possibly do to get AT40 on XM would be to get a large number of people to put the heat on them. Maybe this would work, maybe not.

The only way I will get XM is if I am guaranteed at least six months of AT40 shows. Meaning they can't pull the show after a month or two like last time. If I am going to spend the money, I would want the promise from them they would air on a regular schedule for at least a certain amount of time.

As I have said in the past, I really wouldn't be upset if XM radio decides not to air AT40 shows. Besides, I have enough shows in my collection to listen to, so I really don't need for XM radio to bring back AT40.

Just checking back to announce that there still is no news or mention of AT40 coming to XM. I did check Sirius and found out that they have countdown shows on their 70s and 80s channels(70s has a staff DJ and 80s has former MTV VJ Nina Blackwood). Probably the entire rumor was an XM attempt to deter some of the people who may have been considering Sirius for that purpose. I don't know what happened to the plan to bring AT40 back but aside from messages of the type "we're working on it" (most recently-no response whatsoever), nothing is said and from what I hear, programming czar John Zellner has chosen to appeal to those who want no DJs or those who want the music played on FM. He'll run the entire thing into the ground before long in my opinion.

And once again I see the subject line as new and go "maybe this time...." I should know better!

Sorry about that, Brett. Will change the subject line next time and would have felt the same way had this actually been the case. We can continue to try to push them to broadcast AT40 there but who knows whether they would listen (probably not).

Just another reason why my XM radio hasn't been turned on in months. Just wish I hadn't pre-paid two years' worth of a subscription some time back. My Ipod and current and old Casey shows keep me more than happy musically!

When I got XM, that cooled off my AT40 listening. It was available in the car and at work (on-line)... my two primary AT40 listening venues. However, I recently got an iPod and that has enhanced my AT40 listening. I've downloaded shows to the iPod (complete with an AT40 logo!) and now AT40 listening is even more portable. The other weekend I listened to 6/10/78 while at the pool. The other day I cut the lawn while listening to 6/17/72. Listening to AT40 "live" while on family beach vacations is a fond memory of my youth. For a beach trip next month, I plan on loading the iPod with countdowns corresponding to old vacations.
At40 on the iPod, highly recommended....

Same here, Tom....
I just bought the 60gb video iPod and the fist thing I did was to load countdowns onto it. id guess that 80% of the space Ive used so far consists of countdowns... what a GREAT use of an iPod.

I forget the exact math right now, but I remember when I bought my Ipod I calculated how many AT40 shows it could hold assuming I only put AT40 shows into it! Alas, in the year or so that I have had my 20GB Ipod, I have actually loaded it with nearly 2000 songs from my CD collection, as I couldn't resist the opportunity to program my own "radio station" in addition to carrying around a bunch of Casey shows...past and present...in my Ipod.

I am amazed that I am reading about you guys putting AT40's shows on your iPods. How do you put AT40 shows on your iPods. I don't have an iPod however, I have been thinking of getting one, so I can download music into it. I would love to put some AT40 shows on my iPod, when I get one.
