Rumor has it that Mike will be hosting this weekend's edition of "AT10" (5/2 & 5/3).

Wow, two weeks in a row... is Casey under the weather, or just taking a much-deserved extended vacation?

I tend to think that Casey & his wife Jean are on vacation.

This leads to the trivia questions, how often has Casey been absent for two consecutive weeks? The last time was in March 2002 when Ed McMann filled in for two weeks straight. I know it happened once in the 80s with Charlie Van Dyke, and I believe once during the run of the Westwood One shows. Anyone know for sure? Scott? Pete?
Hopefully Casey will be back countin 'em down next week.

The longest I can recall was 4 weeks in a row... but that was in between the end of CT40 and the rebirth of AT40, so it would be a questionable case.

In that case, the longest was from August 1988 to January 1989

Rob Durkee's book "American Top 40 the countdown of the century" says THREE times Charlie Van Dyke filled in for Casey two weeks in a row. 1/5/85 and 1/12/85 7/11/87 and 7/18/87 1/9/88 and 1/16/88

Charlie holds the record for the most times someone filled in for Casey on the original incarnation of "AT40".

This weekend's Spotlight (5/2 - 5/3) features the top selling hits of the 1990's. As reported earlier, Mike Kasem is once again subbing for Casey.

Mike,as usual, did a terrific job-It was interesting hearing Mike play "Candle In The Wind 1997" by Elton John-Despite the fact it was #1 for 14 weeks,it receives no recurrent airplay these days.

I'm guessing that Candle/97 isn't much replayed nowadays because it was a special release commemorating a specific person/event (Princess Diana's death), thus rendering it dated to radio programmers. Still it did honor a well known and much loved person and sold umpty million copies (one of the few mass-selling non-download singles of recent years), so it deserves to be reheard now and then. BTW, at the end of AT10, Mike indicated that Casey will be back next week.

Out of curiosity, Brett do you work for a station that carries AT10? Just wanted to ask.
