1982 is tricky...maybe the second half of the year doesn't need a "B" show; but then again, it's not up to us to decide. (Premiere might agree with that assessment, but not wanting to make part of the year a stand-alone; maybe the criteria is the entire year should warrant such status, and I don't see the first half doing that.) Still may be a bit early in the decade for some stations' playlists. I've long thought the same of 1972 for the 70s; what's so different between it and 1973 that one year gets B's and the other doesn't? I also never really understood why 1985 and 1986 used to get B's (sometimes 1984 and 1985 would be paired in the same weekend, which made no sense to me), and think it was logical to return them to standalone status.

I guess this will be the updated version, starting with Casey's original 1976 show and bringing it up to 2016? (2018?) If so, I hope they run it twice, like they did on July 4 two years ago. Since I don't have to go anywhere after the parade (which ends around 12:30 CST), I could listen to the second broadcast all the way through.

Maybe next year 1982 can be expanded to stand-alone status... If 82 is presumably not stand alone now, why would that change a year further removed from it barring a change in the format of years they distribute for each show? Exactly my question--I've posted the same thing before. It makes sense that 1985 and '86 have slid into more oldies stations' programming as said stations move the range of years they play forward in time, but none of the classic hits stations are likely going to adjust their playlists to move further away from the current time...so don't expect 1982 to go stand alone any time soon...or ever. Quite frankly, I like the A and B show thing--two shows to catch on those weekends instead of one...double the fun!

And was the Top 100 of 1978 the original version of the show, or the truncated 6-hour version?

Maybe the Top 100 of 1978 could be the AT40: The 70's 2 week year end countdown this 2018 year, and maybe air the full 8 hour version as an A show option with first hour optional with the B option being the edited 6 hour version.

The marathon on WGHN is going to start at noon because the parade they were airing ran late.
The marathon was scheduled to be on until 9:00 anyway (as posted on their Facebook page), but the on-air guy announcing the parade said that they would air two Casey specials then an hour of regular music before the fireworks coverage started at 9:00.

Actually I don’t know if I can listen all day but I’m currently listening to the Top 3 of a 1987 show. Wishing everyone a very happy and safe 4th of July!!!
