Was there ever a bigger underachiever in the classic era than Sweet Mary? Debuted at #15 but topped out two weeks later unbulleted at #7 and was out of the top 40 (and the entire Hot 100 for that matter) after seven weeks.

Maybe when listeners found out the name of the group they thought it was some spoiled rich guys and the listeners boycotted the stations and record stores. It was like Napoleon XIV Part II, only it was a "class" thing this time.
