"Rush Rush" is not a movie title. That is not my intended answer. For this question, a bit of "outside the box" thinking is required. Keep trying! I'll provide clues, gradually, upon each subsequent "good try".

I'll provide clues, gradually, upon each subsequent "good try". Bumping it up to provide a solid hint in the absence of any further guesses: Think chart dates, rather than lyrics or chart position, for songs with common ties and one that falls outside the group. Good luck!

-- Posting from my oceanfront villa on Hilton Head Island -- Which song does not belong with the others, and why? "My Boyfriend's Back" - Angels, #1 on 9/7/63, 9 x 7 = 63 "A Hard Day's Night" - Beatles, #1 on 8/8/64, 8 x 8 = 64 "Baby Love" - Supremes, DOES NOT BELONG"Paint it Black - Rolling Stones, #1 on 6/11/66, 6 x 11= 66 "Against All Odds" - Phil Collins #1 on 4/21/84, 4 x 21 = 84 "Rush Rush" - Paula Abdul #1 on 7/13/91, 7 x 13 = 91 Good luck! The dates that "Baby Love" reached #1, when you multiply the month and day it does not equal to the last 2 digits of the year. See above. "Baby Love" was at #1 on 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, and 11/21/64.

During the pre-SoundScan period, I believe that only two rock era recording acts had hits peak at each position in the Hot 100's top ten. Who are they?
Oddly, both acts completed this achievement by peaking at the same position.
(I'm not adding together the hits for acts that recorded both solo and in a full-time group. If I did, the only addition to the list that I can see is Ringo Starr.)

I'll start off by eliminating the two most obvious candidates: Elvis lacks a #7 and a #10, while the Beatles lack #6 and #10. Chicago is another strong possibility, but I know without even checking Whitburn that they never had a #2 Billboard peak, so they're out as well. I'll be back...

It's not Stevie, he doesn't have a #6. Still checking...

Elton lacks a #10. This is getting harder than I thought it would be...

The Stones don't have a #4. No one else playing here?

Got one! The Queen of Soul herself, Miss Aretha Franklin! And the last number she needed to complete all ten was #9 ("Rock Steady"), so that's a clue for the second artist.
Oops---correction: #3 was the last peak position she needed, which she got with "Until You Come Back To Me". So looking for a #3 hit to finish out the second act as well...

Hall and Oates is one.
Edit: Nope...they missed position 10. They did have 11 and 12, however.

You're right: The #3 "Everything Your Heart Desires" completed it for them. So I guess we each get half credit? A-ha!--no #10 for Daryl and John! Who can it be, then?

Nope, they never peaked at #10 during the period. But they did come so close with their #11 hit ... "So Close"!
