At number four on the 3/28/87 show, "Tonight Tonight Tonight" by Genesis. Casey erred earlier in the show when introducing and doing the outro for "That Ain't Love" by REO Speedwagon. Leading into the song, he said it was up five to number 17, then when doing the outro, said it was up six notches to 17. In reality, it was the latter, not the former.

Also, this show debuted what would be the longest running jingle and theme package of any Casey show, as the AT20 theme and jingles remained unchanged until the end of the show eleven years later. Was that true exclusively for AT20?

Also, this show debuted what would be the longest running jingle and theme package of any Casey show, as the AT20 theme and jingles remained unchanged until the end of the show eleven years later. Was that true exclusively for AT20? I believe so. AT40 started with the same theme and some shared jingles and then got a new theme and jingle package on July 4th weekend 1999 that carried through until Ryan took over. (That theme and jingle package is easily my favorite) AT20 AC had softer jingles and a different opening theme, although the closing theme was the same. When AT10 arrived, a few new jingles were produced. There was a custom new closing theme but it was only on a few shows before going back to the AT20 theme. The AT20 AC opening theme also hung on for a short while and then gave way to the AT20 HAC open for AT10. In 2006 the two shows started to use each others jingles a bit more interchangeably. But AT20 HAC had that same package from start to finish

I liked the number jingles from this package.

Richard Todd's Classic UK Top 40 Countdown on 2NVR. Show is profiling the week of March 9, 1980. Sometimes hearing a show about popular hits in England is more amusing and entertaining than some AT40 shows.

It's 3/29/86 now. From this point through the early fall, 1986 was one smoking year for pop music IMHO.

6/20/81 - I know I knock 1981 but this is a great show That was indeed a great show--I remember it well from when Premiere played it in 2011. I am a big fan of any 1981 show between May and early October. '81 shows after that are decent, shows before are hit-or-miss to put it nicely. Listening to AT40 and da Shadoe from 4/14/90. At #25--real good show so far. Always makes me wonder why 1990 is so largely ignored at this point. It wasn't the greatest year of pop music, but still a number of good songs from this year.

Part of the reason may be that 1990 falls sort of "in between" decades or eras: the 80s were over, but what most remember and look back increasingly fondly on as the 90s hadn't started yet. I have to agree with the "not the greatest year" part, though. I was in my teens then, and much of the music of the time was sufficiently unimpressive to get me on an 80s nostalgia kick before it was cool.

03/07/81. I had just turned 15 when it originally aired. I especially like these obscure songs: Back in Black, ACDC (not so obscure anymore) Staying with it, Firefall Riders in the Sky, Outlaws Ah Leah!, Donnie Iris Living in a Fantasy, Leo Sayer Games People Play, Alan Parsons Project

Leah also gets decent Classic Hits/Rock play, but the others, yeah.
