Back 19 years now, to AT40 from August 12, 2000. Ed McMann does his usual guest hosting here, as he was Casey's regular guest host during most of this run.

Got a rare day off, so it'll be a couple of 1990s shows today: Casey's Top 40 from 8/8/1992, and AT40 from 8/7/1999. Joe Cipriano guest-hosted the 1999 show. Many memorable summertime tunes in both shows, 1992 especially as that was leading into my senior year in high school.

^ Heh, what are the odds - I just started that show today also.
1979 has been a lot of fun this year, going through each show week by week. This is in my musical "sweet spot".

Casey's Top 40 from August 13, 1994.
This really takes me back - so many great songs that summer! Interestingly enough, 2 future #1's (I'll Make Love To You and All I Wanna Do) debut and 2 former #1's (The Sign and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World) fall off.

The discussion about this show - 31 years ago - made me want to pull out Shadoe Stevens's first AT40, from August 13, 1988. That opening monologue... that was one to remember!

AT40 from 7/17/82 - Mark Elliot guest hosting. Typical excellent summer 1982 mix of songs, with seven debuts, including two of my fave early 80's "lost" hits: "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100 and "Nice Girls" by Eye to Eye.

AT40 from 8/18/1979; the last show to feature jingles in mono. Had just completed CT40 from 8/17/1991.

Golng back 30 years to CT40 from August 26, 1989. I totally forgot about "Forget Me Not" by Bad English. Just got to that show myself in my 1989 marathon. That is indeed a great forgotten tune. I totally forgot about it; as "When I See You Smile" charted shortly thereafter. Previously, it was CT40 from 9/7/1991; on deck is AT40 from 9/8/1979, guest-hosted by Gordon Elliott. He'd guest-host one other AT40 show, exactly 52 weeks later. ETA: 9/8/1979 is the second show to feature the "SOB" version of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". The 8/18 show was the first. I'll let you all know which shows have them as I listen to them in order. 🙂
