AT40 disco special from 7/7/1979. In my mind, this is when disco peaked. That following Thursday, and any baseball/sports fan would know or maybe remember this, the Chicago White Sox held a Disco Demolition promotion. I was only four years old at the time, so I can't say I personally remember it. But it wasn't long afterward that disco music would be less represented on the top 40. On deck: Casey's Top 40 from 6/3/1989.

AT40 from July 17, 1999. Another very nostalgic show for me!
Casey mentioned Canadian tour dates for Britney Spears that week - they included my home town of Saskatoon. To date, this is the only time she has performed here.

Finished CT40 from 7/13/1991 with Mark Elliott guest-hosting. Lots of skips throughout (not on my part, it was in the recording).
Currently on AT40 7/14/1979. Both debuts aren't disco hits, and Casey is reflecting the chart movement from the previous week's chart, which wasn't counted down due to the disco special.
Up next: CT40 6/10/1989.

And now it's AT40 from July 5, 2003. So many great songs on here! Curious what were your favorites? Interesting to note the next week, the current host of AT40, Ryan Seacrest, would host for the 1st time filling in for Casey. EDIT: Casey forgot to thank Ryan for hosting on the 7/19 show

EDIT: Casey forgot to thank Ryan for hosting on the 7/19 show I think by that point, Casey was taking so many weeks off that he'd stopped the practice of thanking guest hosts.

It's been a while since Premier offered a 1977 show, so today I will listen to AT40 from 7-30-77.

Just finished up AT40 from 7/21/1979. Despite the impending decline of disco, the top 4 songs are disco hits, two of them by the Queen Of Disco.
Now CT40 from 6/17/1989, just outside the top 10. Good sound quality on this show. Liked the report Casey gave on concerts that would make you think it was 1969, instead of 1989. That was a year many acts from the 60s and 70s were either making a comeback or touring. Speaking of turning back the clock, Santana and the Doobie Brothers are coming in concert here soon. The Doobies were here with Journey a couple of years back.

Was feeling nostalgic for 1997 so put on Casey's Top 40 from August 2, 1997. It's priceless to hear Casey introduce "B!tch" at #1.

^I'll have to listen to that show...lots of good stuff out in summer 1997. Casey's most priceless intro, IMO, to that #1 song was on the year-end show. 😂
Currently on CT40 7/27/1991 in my 1991 marathon. Then CT40 from 6/24/1989. Slowly catching up. After that, AT40 7/28/1979. Will be driving a lot this week so it won't take long to get through them.
