The lost 80s classic from May 7, 1988 is from a Canadian rock band still active today. Their only US Top 40 hit "Feel It Again" peaked at #34 in 1986. This one peaked at #91 in its debut week, and only stayed on the charts for 2 weeks. It was the band's only Top 10 on the Canadian charts, peaking at #9. Love Changes Everything - Honeymoon Suite
From May 10, 1980, this one deserved more than a #72 peak during a 6 week chart run. Although they never made it higher than #13 twice, their lead singer John Waite hit the top with "Missing You". Midnight Rendezvous - Babys

For the week of May 7, 1988 - a song from a group that never hit the top 40, but had some really good songs throughout the late 80's and 90's... www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyqBd7-L5NA

Funny thing, it was one of two songs that charted in 1988 with the name "Love Changes Everything". The other would be the Climie Fisher song that reached the top 30 in July...

The lost 80s classic from May 8, 1982 is just too good to pass up for stat buffs of the Hot 100. Sly and the Family Stone's original was the "B" side of "Everyday People". It charted in the Hot 100 for 4 weeks peaking at #89. The 1982 remake also spent 4 weeks on the Hot 100, peaking at #89 as well. Included in this dance trio's second and final Hot 100 single was Joey Robinson, son of Sylvia "Pillow Talk" Robinson. She was also the Sylvia in the Mickey and Sylvia duo in the late 50s. Sing A Simple Song - West Street Mob
From May 9, 1987 this lost 80s classic was spending it's sixth and final week in the Hot 100 having peaked at #72. A sparsely orchestrated song with stunning vocals, it was the fourth single taken from the legendary "So" album. Let's hug it out! Don't Give Up - Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush

From May 17, 1986, this one debuted at #88 and would peak at #50 during an 11 week chart run. It was a Henry Mancini classic with a techno twist, which featured a guitar god from the early days of rock & roll. Peter Gunn Theme - Art Of Noise featuring Duane Eddy
The May 19, 1984 lost 80s classic would last for 8 weeks in the Hot 100 and peak at #45. As for the video, it's just Freddie being Freddie. I Want To Break Free - Queen

Beach Boys gone solo for the lost 80s classic from May 28, 1983. This uptempo number comes from the voice that gave us "God Only Knows". Managed to peak at #72 during its 6 week chart run. What You Do To Me - Carl Wilson

This week's Lost 80s Classic from June 5, 1982 is from the pen of Dave Edmunds. This song was most famously covered by NRBQ, but her remake hung out around the lower rungs of the Bubbling Under charts for a couple of weeks. Tailor made for a red-headed lady and her slide guitar. Me And The Boys - Bonnie Raitt
His first single "I Wish I Had A Girl" was spending its last week on the hot 100, having peaked at #20. The follow-up is this week's Lost 80s Classic from June 11, 1988. It was in its third week on the charts having reached #69. Although it would only stay in the Hot 100 for 8 weeks and peak at #57, it did make the Top 10 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. Darlin' Danielle Don't - Henry Lee Summer

This lost 80s classic from June 16, 1984 was in its third and final week in the hot 100, having peaked at #80. It was the third time in the Hot 100 for this one-hit wonder, but it had been 11 years since he last made an appearance. The song was included in the "Bachelor Party" soundtrack. His only Top 40 hit reached #3 early in 1973. In the interim he did session work with Betty Wright and KC & The Sunshine Band. Gotta Give A Little Love (Ten Years After) - Timmy Thomas

From June 25, 1983 this lost 80s classic was in its 13th and final week in the Hot 100, having peaked at #59. The band, whose members briefly included Jon Bon Jovi (1983) would reach the Top 10 with "The Warrior" in 1984. Lead vocalist Patty Smyth (aka Mrs. John McEnroe) would just miss the top of the charts in 1992. Featured in a duet with Don Henley, "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" would peak at #2. Love's Got A Line On You - Scandal

Love's Got A Line On You - ScandalThanks 1finemrg for the informative post. I am still finding out things I never knew....that Bon Jovi was once a member and Patty is now married to John McEnroe, who wouldve thought lol. Another thing I never knew about Patty is after the end of Scandal, Smyth was asked by friend Eddie Van Halen to join the band Van Halen to replace David Lee Roth as lead singer. Could you imagine Van Halen's sound if that had followed through? ultimateclassicrock.com/van-halen-patty-smyth/PS: "Sometimes" spent 2 weeks at #3 in Oct. on AT40, blocked by "End Of The Road" by Boys II Men and "I'd Die Without You" by PM Dawn

From what I can see on Wikipaedia, umdmusic, and Billboard it did reach #2. Survey from 10/24/92 can be found using the link below. www.billboard.com/magazine-archive

From June 27, 1981: A lost 80s classic? Not really. But to commemorate what could be their last tour, we'll go with this classic rock staple that made it to #44 during a 13 week stay in the hot 100. Tom Sawyer - Rush
The ingredients that made up this lost classic from June 21, 1986 could be best described as an unlikely combination. A Swiss hair metal band covering the Godfather of Shock Rock's biggest hit. Peaked at #67 during a 7 week chart run. School's Out - Krokus

Offering up a lost hit from 7/04/1987, this was in its peak position of #3 on the soul chart, and would hit #56 on the Hot 100 the following week. Still a Thrill - Jody WatleyThis is one of my favorites by her.
