For the week of March 6, 1982, how about some Minneapolis-style funk... www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNCN1Qx_MywI know there is a music video for this (in fact, Casey played it at some point on America's Top 10 as the spotlight song for the Soul Chart), but it's not available on YouTube...maybe Prince owns the rights?

From St. Patrick's Day 1984, I've grown to like this lost 80s classic over the years. The video features the late Anita Morris (Ruthless People) and the song at that time fit her to a "T". Song peaked at #44 during its 9 week chart run. She Was Hot - Rolling Stones

We go to LA for this lost 80s classic from March 22, 1986. It was unlucky sevens for this band, 7 weeks in the Hot 100 peaking at #77. In My Dreams - Dokken

Still played regularly by WXRT in Chicago (or at least it was when I listened to that station most often in the late 90's and early 00's).

This lost 80s classic debuted on March 28, 1987. It was the title track to a movie starring Michael J. Fox, and would peak at #64 during its 8 week stay. Secret Of My Success - Night Ranger
The lost 80s classic from March 28, 1981 was also a debut. Although it would only peak at #88 and chart for 4 weeks, it would achieve great success at the end of the decade. Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville would release their duet which would peak at #2 in late 1989. This version is by one righteous dude who would have the time of his life when he topped the charts a third time in 1987. Don't Know Much - Bill Medley

Offering up a lost hit from 4/01/1989, this song reached #1 on the dance chart and #4 in the UK, and was at its peak position of #73 on the Hot 100. Inner City - Good Life

From 4/6/85, the first Hot 100 hit for this band would be this week's lost 80s classic. It was at its peak #78 position in the middle of a 5 week chart run, and the title track to their first album on a major label. Their next single would reach the top, a cover of a fifties classic. It was the title song to a soundtrack album which would also top the charts. Will The Wolf Survive - Los Lobos
The lost 80s classic from April 7, 1984 was the third and final single from his last studio album. The album "Milk And Honey" just missed the Top 10, peaking at #11. Unlike the first two singles which went Top 10, this one peaked at #55 and stayed on the charts for 6 weeks. I'm Steppin' Out - John Lennon

For the week of April 9, 1983, let's go with one of the Gap Band's best tracks, which IMHO was one of the best R&B tracks of the 80's. Hard to believe it missed the top 40...just a fantastic song, in its peak week at #51: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7QDzm-A1ckBTW, a small bit of trivia--if anyone remembers the 1995 song "Every Little Thing I Do" by Soul For Real, the percussion for that song was sampled from this one.

Inner City - Good Life"Good Life" is a great song--was one of my favorites when it was out in the Spring of '89. Inner City was out of Detroit IIRC, but just had this song and "Big Fun" that were notable singles. Unfortunate that it didn't receive more attention...especially considering how many bad songs in 1989 got way too much of that.

This is a good little tune that was the only Hot 100 single for this Iowa based band. The album was pretty good too. The band's name is an acronym using the first letter of each member's last name: Hearn, Adams, Wiewel, Kaufman, and Steen. A lost 80s classic from April 18, 1981, it would peak at #63 and stay on the charts for 7 weeks. Right Away - Hawks
Instead of spotlighting him on the "Happy Birthday To..." thread, we'll focus on him with this lost 80s classic from April 20, 1985. It's taken from a cinema classic, "Porky's Revenge". Made a pit stop on the charts, peaking at #91 during its 2 week stay. An April 15th Happy Birthday to you, Dave! High School Nights - Dave Edmunds

Any day we can feature a Dan Fogelberg song is a good day for me! This lost 80s classic from April 28, 1984 debuted at #70. In spite of its lofty beginning, it could only manage a #48 peak during its 9 weeks on the Hot 100. Still wish he was making music today, and its hard to believe over seven years have passed since his death. RIP Dan. Believe In Me - Dan Fogelberg
