I am definitely stoked that 1987 is the year-end show for the 80s series.
So many great songs and memories from that year for me. So many classic acts with multiple songs in the countdown - Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Huey Lewis & the News, and U2 included. In addition to one of my favorite 80s songs - "(I Just) Died In Your Arms" by the Cutting Crew. Also, Madonna and Michael Jackson. And Jody Watley. Ooh - and T'Pau, with some heart and soul.
An interesting note on the numero uno song from 1987, "Walk Like an Egyptian" by The Bangles: It would be the second out of four year-end top songs to begin its Top 40 chart run in the prior year. "That's What Friends Are For" by Dionne and Friends (1986) started the trend, with "Faith" by George Michael and "Look Away" by Chicago to follow.
Yeah. I'm ready for the Top 100 of 1987.

Actually it was the third of five. Wham!'s "Careless Whisper", ranked Billboard's #1 of 1985, entered the chart in December 1984.
