I have all the year-enders in my collection, so there isn't one I have to hear, but I would probably lobby for either 1981 or '87 simply because those are the two that haven't been aired by Premiere yet. My personal preference would be '87, just because I like the songs better for the most part. If I had to say which show I would like to hear the most...other than '87, I would probably say 1980. The top 100 is full of great songs, and I think Premiere only aired the top 50 (back in 2008?).
RJ's Mullet, I wonder if you are right, but I can never tell with '81 since they are relatively light on '81 shows in general...

I voted for 1987 but now it's been revealed that next weekend's countdown is from 1982, I'm strongly suspecting that we'll be getting 1981. I'm thinking that they'll probably do two different year-end shows (like they did in 2009) - 1981 and 1987. I somehow doubt that they'll do a full Top 100 of 1981, since they only did the Top 50 of the two adjacent years. Or maybe they'll do only one year-ender and then, on the first weekend of January, the first show of 1981 (in that case, the year-ender might not be from that year). However, I voted for 1982, since the question is what show I'd like to hear, not what show I think they'll be doing. 1982 was my favorite year-ender, for some reason.

I'd love to hear the original AT40 book of records show, from '80. I wouldn't record it;I'd just listen to it, over my computer.

Again, I have all of them, so I voted for my favorite... 1982! Um, can you clarify what you mean by "have" the shows? Can you actually get recordings somewhere?

I've been predicting the 1987 year-ender for months, and my prediction was right on the money! This is definitely one year-ender I will be recording for sure! At the beginning of the broadcast, Casey plays snippets of #1 songs of years as far back as 1980, up to and including 1986. Then the survey starts with a song eventually remade by INOJ. It will, however, sound weird to hear the #40 jingle (for upbeat music) midway through the countdown instead of at the beginning. Though #40 is not an upbeat dance song - it is "Land of Confusion" by Genesis.
