And interestingly, San Francisco was the biggest radio market to never air AT40 during the Shadoe era. KITS (Live 105) dropped the show in 1987. I recall hearing the Shadoe version of AT40 locally on KWSS (now KBAY) in San Jose during 1989-90. I'm not sure when they started carrying the show, or when they dropped it. KWSS was mentioned once on AT40. It was listed as a new station on August 18, 1990. KUFX San Jose was listed once, on April 13, 1991.

WNOK in Columbia, SC later on dropped AT40 for Casey; they became a "Casey's Top 40" affiliate in late 1990. WNOK's last mention on AT40 was 2-29-92. WNCI was mentioned as an affiliate for AT40 through 3-5-94.

It'd be interesting to know how many of these affiliates dropped AT40 upon Casey's Top 40 starting. I assume WFMK was one of them. Since they were and still are AC, I can't see them airing both CT40 and Shadoe's AT40 at the same time. For all I know, WFMK may have dropped AT40 as soon as Shadoe took over.

WNCI did drop at40 then sometime later picked it back up but it was played 7:00 in the evening, I know because that's when I'd listen to it, now the year they picked it back up I'm not sure but I remember hearing it until about 1993 I think.

According to Mike Eiland of WODC in Columbus www.oldies933fm.com/pages/pp_mikeeiland.html?article=8482128"AT40" debuted on WNCI 2/14/1971 It aired Sunday mornings from 9AM - 12 Noon (it would re-air on Tuesdays at 12 Midnight from early 1973 until mid-1975). It expanded from 8AM - 12 Noon with the expansion to four hours in 1978. There was a Sunday night re-air but there is no knowledge of how long that ran for. WNCI dropped AT40 for CT40 in early 1991 and carried CT40 until its' very end and carried AT40 when it relaunched in 1998 and it still airs AT40 with Ryan Seacrest to this day.

If I'm not mistaken,"Casey's Top 40" was on WICC-AM in Bridgeport,CT in 1989-It eventually moved to their sister station WEBE 108.

To add to the original CT40 list:
Dance-leaning CHR Yes 97 WYYS/Columbia, SC was one of the first CT40 affiliates, airing the show Sundays 9 AM-1 PM. They dropped the show in the Fall of 1990 when the station went Rock 40 and WNOK picked it up a few weeks later.
WRKA/Louisville, KY carried CT40 in it's first few months, which was very odd as the station was Oldies at the time! To be fair, they were a Hot-leaning AC when they signed up for the show and had changed format to Oldies. But imagine being a Oldies listener hearing the likes of Milli Vanilli and Kon-Kan instead of the Beatles or Elvis.
WKSO/Orangeburg, SC carried CT40 when they changed format from AC to Top 40 in the Spring of 1989. Dropped it when the station was later sold and went Urban Contemporary in 1990.

WMC FM 100 in Memphis carried CT40 from 1989 through 1992 (they counted down CT40's Top 100 of 1991 but one year later they counted down Rick Dees's Weekly Top 40's Top 100 of 1992). Apparently, FM 100 carried Casey's Countdown for a short period of time in 1993 or 1994. At some point in 1996 or 1997, WHBQ 107.5 picked up Casey's Top 40 and carried AT40 through Casey's return and replacement by Ryan.
There's also a smaller station from Paris TN that seems to have carried CT40 throughout its entire life (Paris is approximately 100 miles north of Memphis). I never heard it there but I remember Casey mentioning it several times.

Thanks for the welcome, Shadoe Fan. I'd been lurking here for awhile, but decided to sign up when I found the CT40 affiliate list topic and I didn't see WYYS/Columbia mentioned.
When I got off-line, I remembered another CT40 affiliate in the area where I was living at back in the late 80s-early 90s: 92.7 WKSX/Johnston, SC (then a AC/Album Rock hybrid). I believed that they dropped the show by early 1992 when they went Oldies (where they are today).
Another one that I didn't see mentioned that was an affiliate for both AT40 and CT40 at one time was Power 98 WBPR/Myrtle Beach, SC. Power 98 was a new Dance-leaning CHR that came on the air in the Spring of 1989, so they weren't a charter affliate of CT40. They've dropped AT40 sometime after 1991, but kept CT40 when the station became Mix 97.7 WWXM in 1994.
And I did forget to mention this, but WKSO/Orangeburg's predecessor, AC WORG, did carried AT40 for a number of years, but dropped the show for CT40 when it debuted.
