Wow that LDD was intense. Hope he didn't go through with it. So sad to feel that alone and despondent. Never knew that stuff about Pat Benatar. I honestly had no idea she was married before. Oh and I love me some Prince. I've been lucky enough to see him in concert and he is some performer. I believe that Benatar was her former married surname. She was born an Andrzejewski, and now of course she's a Geraldo. No one would be able to pronounce the former, and many would mispronounce the latter!

With tomorrow being a holiday, many stations treat such as a weekend and don't go with their weekday lineups. With that being said, do we have any confirmed stations that will air TOP 40 ACTS OF THE 80'S SO FAR(7/2/83) tomorrow?

Glad to hear all the 80s #1s from WTOJ just not sure why they cut off songs to do their station oldies in the middle of it 'like cutting into Betty Davis Eyes' just to play a part of a Rod Stewart song not even part of the countdown and then cutting it off too for the weather. Bit odd and makes you wonder if your missing songs or not. Listening back to my recording (I was listening to it on-and-off over-the-air during the day), 'BDE' was UNinterrupted, but they did play Steve Winwood's 'Higher Love' (intro'ed as such by Ken Martin, btw)during the commercial break. They came back with Stars on 45 after that break. Was there another song where this may have happened?

Predictions for the stations with a history of playing the "B" shows: SWR - 1982 - Has not played an '84 "B" show. KOLA,KOOL - One 1982, the other 1984. WTOJ - 1982 - Every "B" played has been older show than "A". KOKZ - 1982 - It is what they usually play. KGOR - 1984 - Has been avoiding early "A" shows('80-'82) since May. KCCL - 1982 - It is what they usually play. WMGN - 1982 - Does not play last year's shows. WTIC - 1984 - Has not played 1982 this year. WEZG - Both shows

Since the station isn't selling those ad times on the stream and we're required to cover them with something, I thought it would be better to play some music there. During regular programming it's not a problem, but during Casey it can be confusing.

If you're listening to the Number 1's special on WTOJ, I have to apologize for the duplication of songs going from Part 3 to Part 4. The original version of Part 3 aired which was too long. I had shortened it to move Whitney and Madonna to part 4, but the revised audio didn't get loaded into my automation system for playback. My fault. I didn't check that before it ran.
Consider it like Casey playing back the top 3 songs from last week! HA HA!
It won't be that way when Premiere offers them to the regular affiliates.

^Re: the #1s special. We will probably hear part 4 again on Ken Martin's WTOJ before it is on a Premiere affiliate. IIRC, the 80s series has not been offered yet to 80s stations. These specials on Premiere affiliates are only offered on the 3 summer holiday weekends. So assuming Part 1 is offered next year on Memorial Day weekend, parts 1,2 and 3 will be offered next year. Part 4 will have to wait until Memorial Day 2017. So I think it will be offered prior to that maybe on Mem. Day wkd next year on WTOJ when Ken does another marathon. Or maybe before that on New Years weekend. Marathons are done then too.

What's funny is that many years ago, I mentioned to relatives on my Polish (father's) side that Pat Benatar was born Andrzejewski, and they pronounced it in more than one way, more or less depending on how far removed they were from Poland (born in Poland vs first-generation born in US vs 2nd generation US born). The biggest differences were in the pronunciation of the w -- is it pronounced like a v, an f or a w?

WEZG - Both shows Do you think since the 1980 show got shafted this weekend that next week's 84' show will be shafted as well? I don't think so because of the different factors. WTIC has passed on 1982 every time the show has been available. The only time that both KOOL & KOLA has passed on 1984, 1985 was the "A" show. The last time KGOR played an early 1980s "A" show was in April(4/18/81). Both KGOR & KOOL played a show in May that was aired last year. 1985 being the "A" show and it being a holiday weekend as well as a stigma attached to 1980 by some stations did not help. There are stations that believe 1984 is more typical of the 1980s than 1982.
