This comes just a month and a half after Premiere gave us another 1987 A-1982 B pairing. To see who's playing what, I'd probably look up the thread/posts from July 4 weekend as a starter, and update as needed.

I might be jumping the gun a liittle bit, and this is probably just a coincidence, but next week's 8-15-87 show features the debut of the Grateful Dead's only top 40 hit "Touch Of Grey." 20 years ago tomorrow was the passing of Jerry Garcia. Has it been that long!

Hard to believe that Jerry's been gone for twenty years.

Listed below are stations that have aired the B shows by date: 07/04/15 - 07/04/87 A 07/03/82 B - KCCL,KGOR,KOLA,WEZG,WRIT,WTOJ KCCL - plays the early 80s shows frequently KGOR - plays A or B shows in streaks. Currently on a B streak. KOLA - unpredictable WRIT - played which show is closest to 1980 last 6 weeks. WTOJ - has passed on last three 1987 shows WEZG - plays both shows KOKZ has played 1987 only once. So finding 1982 should not be difficult.

Surprising first indeed. Should they not have waited a week to air the 8/22 show? That has not been aired in at least 5 years. This has been discussed ad nauseum (says that is misspelled...oh well, I don't have time to spellcheck that) but it sure seems like the series should be rebranded to align with the 4 hour shows and 3 hour shows. With only 8 years to choose from at this point of the year, repeats from 2012 are evidently hard to avoid. But bringing in 1979 for Aug and Sept and also 1978 for Oct to Dec. would avoid that.

Heck, I was surprised that the order wasn't simply reversed, making 1982 the "A" show. As it stands, this will be the fourth 1982 "B" show since its last "A", back in May.

Right--why would the '87 be the A show? That show has been played more recently, and we are now past 3 months since the last '82 A show. Strange...
And too bad that they didn't go back to 2009 and play 8/17/85 or 8/15/81. Or like dukelightning said, why not hold off on '87 and play 8/22/87?

We're getting WAY ahead of ourselves here but I've always thought that there are a handful of shows that Premiere could repeat often without too many complaints from us and 9/14/85 is one of those due to its, uh, historical significance. Since it hasn't been played since 2010 I would say we will almost definitely get it this year. (The other ones on that list of handful of shows, BTW, are the first show, Casey's last show, the John Lennon tribute show, the first ever LDD and possibly the first four-hour show.) I don't think they care about its "historical significance." Truth is, most people still have no idea about the incident. Just going to be a matter of if it is its time to air again. So in the vein of not knowing the historical significance of this show, I'd like to share an incident that occurred at work this week. Yes, I consider this an incident (I say this sarcastically). I was listening to a 2005 edition of AT20 which I know is not what this thread isn't about but just follow it. I got to my all time least favorite segment of any radio show ever: LDD. The one positive I can say is at least by this point there was only 1 per show. Anyway I send an email to 2 of my female coworkers who sit across the wall from me. I gave the jist of the dedication in it. My email said I absolutely hate these dedication requests Casey Kasem would read. "Dear Casey, I screwed up and am in jail now. I can't hold my baby. Woe is me. Please play "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls." My two replies were: "Who is Casey Kasem" and the other replies "I was wondering the same thing. I think it's one of the ladies in..." and I forgot the rest. One is 22,the other is 30. That tells you how little people listened to countdown shows over the last 20 years. Between Pizza Hut which you can see ony Facebook page and this, I had quite the week.

I enjoy listening to that outtake of The Dead Dog Dedication. It kind of reminds me of Jack Rebney in "Winnebago Man." After a bad day at work (which are many,) I actually feel better after listening to that dedication. I think Premiere should re-air the 9-14-85 show to commemorate Snuggles after that f**cking uptempo record. Unfortunately we'll get the edited version LOL

WWIS has had the sounder noise in most of it's airing the past month some are in commercials and the one last week was during 2 or 3 of the songs so it's something really amiss there to have it occurring so frequently.

This. Continuing to post this stuff could endanger this board. I would hate to see this board be deleted because some continues to talk about it. Right--not sure why it's so hard to understand that there are some things about which you just shouldn't post on this site. Scott has made it pretty clear that two of the subjects to avoid are talk of trading shows or about non-subscribing internet-only stations that are playing shows. And posting the schedule of shows to be played throughout the year.

"KHND messed up and is replaying last week's show." KTHI did not play 1983 either, but played "Boulevard" twice.

Were the OEs posted for the 8-6-83 show? Can't seem to find 'em, anywhere.

Were the OEs posted for the 8-6-83 show? Can't seem to find 'em, anywhere. When all else fails, look harder. You might get lucky. Though they did emerge quite early due to being guessed VERY early last weekend... From six pages back: Indeed, we have an early winner this week. In this order: Hour 1 - Lindsey Buckingham "Holiday Road" Hour 2 - The Stray Cats "(She's) Sexy + 17" Hour 3 - Frank Stallone "Far From Over" Hour 4 - Elton John "Kiss the Bride" Tip: And if you want next week's, check the previous page.

On the 7-6-83 show, Casey forgot the 7th female duo to hit the top 40. Cheri hit #39 in '82, with 'Murphy's law'.
