Oops. I meant on the 8-6-83 show, for the female duos.

I would suggest that 1982's issue could be a result of A) chart stagnancy-"superbullet" theory B) the split between pre-and post- second British Invastion. I don't think Premiere would do this unless some programmers were complaining about the song selections from 30+ years ago that they don't play in current oldies-classic hits format.

This week's second LDD featured a longer version of "Three Times A Lady" than is usually heard on the radio (where the chorus is repeated twice). I was wondering if that was edited down by Premiere, but thankfully, it was not.

Anyone listening to the show on Cars 108? Most of the songs seem to speed up partway through, some of them doing so twice. Does that usually happen on that station?

Don't think I've ever heard that version of three times a lady before (and here in the uk it's a track thats a favourite with the oldies stations )

Predictions for the stations with a history of playing the "B" shows: SWR - 1987 - played "A" show 6 straight times KOLA,KOOL - One 1987,the other 1982 WTOJ - 1982 - has played '82 all 3 times up against '87 KOKZ - 1982 - rarely plays 1987. KGOR - 1982 - played "B" show last time KCCL - 1982 - has not played 1987 this year WMGN - 1987 - played '87 each time it has been "A" option WTIC - 1987 - has not played 1982 this year WEZG - Both shows WRIT - 1982 - '82 closer to 1980 than '87 or '73 I would not be surprised if any of the above stations except WTIC played 1982.

KGOR will play 1982. WMGN and KOLA both chose 1987.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess: 8/25/84 2nd Guess: 8/24/85
The odds would seem to be pretty heavy on 1984 for next week. Premiere hasn't yet aired this show and it would close out a streak in which all four August '84 shows will have been played in the past four years. The '85 show was last aired in 2010, and it appears to be the next best possibility.

I'm with you, Matt, that 1984 would be a strong probability for next weekend. If 1985 were to be aired next weekend as an "A" show, there would possibly be, for a "B" option: a 1980 show (if August 23, 1980 did previously air), 1981 had aired that weekend last year (correct me if I'm wrong), and August 20, 1983 could be the only other possibility. And knowing Premiere, the previously-aired shows that are usually replayed, are mainly shows that previously aired in either 2008 or 2009 (though shows previously aired in 2010 did get "A" show replay status, but not very often).
Of course, if 1984 is scheduled for next weekend, expect to hear a triple play of Jermaine Jackson in three of the songs (including a debut song, a song heard on the Triathlon special, and a song in the top ten). I think August 25, 1984 is the latest AT40 show from 1984 I can handle.

My guess would be 84 for next weekend, with 1981 for the week after. 8/29/81 hasn't yet aired, and actually 8/31/85 (repeated last year) immediately comes to mind as a "B" show to pair with that.
This, in turn, can set up 9/6/86 for Labor Day weekend. (Though I do wonder about the prospects of 9/4/82 going instead - that's aired before, but it was in 2008.)
