On this weeks show Casey mentions that "Alright" by Christopher Cross debuted on the Hot 100 at 29 but peaked at #12. Can anybody think of other high Hot 100 debut that missed the Top 10. Also mentioning guest hosts considering the reason they've aired the other guest host shows the one that's going to be the longest until we hear it is July 30 1988 show hosted by Hall & Oates.

If you mean Hot 100 debut that was also a debut record on AT40, yes...."Her Town Too" entered at 38 and stalled at 11. Also "It's Raining Again" entered at 31 and also stalled at 11.

Since 4/18/81 is one of six 1980-81 AT40 shows that I acquired on the original LPs back in 1982, I guess I can listen to it at my leisure anytime next week! No Flo! Unfortunately, I have to work next Friday, so no listening to it on WEZG, so I'll have to grit my teeth with the Flo ads. Well, unless AT40: The 80s gets a new sponsor... HAH! Fat chance! One means to Flo-avoidance.... listen to the Canadian stations. (Listening to 70s on CKOC at the moment, but the same applies to the Canadian 80s stations, I believe.)

Yes it does, it also applies to Australian station SWR if you can stay up until 1 A.M. - about 4:30 Saturday mornings. On the plus side they mostly play the extras but the 80's one on Fridays MAX FM plays their own extras instead.

Given the precedent of how other guest hosts shows have been run, I think Bob would mind. A lot. Agreed So would Charlie Van Dyke

Sounds like a bit of 1960s music this week, as the AT40 Archives are:
* "The Game Of Love" - Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders * "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter" - Herman's Hermits * "Ticket to Ride" - The Beatles.
Add to that Bobby Vee's 1961 hit "Take Good Care Of My Baby" (as a Long Distance Dedication), and that makes up a good 1960s music block.
Actually, we have four from John Lennon; in addition to his part on "Ticket to Ride," we've got his three-play from Double Fantasy: "(Just Like) Starting Over," "Woman" and "Watching the Wheels."
We even hear Dolly Parton twice ... her solo "9 to 5" and providing harmony (with Linda Ronstadt) on Emmylou Harris' "Mister Sandman." Those, plus Don McLean's "Cryin'" and Terri Gibbs' "Somebody's Knockin'," make up this week's country block.
Aside from the Lennon songs, songs you never hear on very many classic hits/oldies/AC stations. Makes "AT40: The 80s" much appreciated.
This week's predictions:
* "A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)" - Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio. * "What Are We Doing in Love" - Dottie West and Kenny Rogers. * "Find Your Way Back" - Jefferson Starship. * "Time" - Alan Parsons Project.

Caught a faux pas in this weeks's OEs. Larry Morgan mentioned that Lionel Richie's "My Love" was the highest-debuting song in the 4/9/1983 Billboard Hot 100, although that honor belonged to Men At Work's "Overkill", which Casey mentioned in the countdown.

As the week progresses, if anyone would happen to learn what stations may be airing the 'B' (1985) show next weekend, may I impose on you to post an update if and/or as possible?
Thanks so much!!
WEZG has been playing the "A" show on Friday @ 2pm EST & the "B" show on Sunday @ 9pm EST for some time now when offered. Also, KOOL (Sat 9am EST) does not usually air 1981, but does not post what show it airs anymore.
