I never understood why Dionne never hit the Top 40, yet made it all the way to #17 on R&R. Definitely one of the biggest diversities between the two charts. The biggest one (with R&R getting the higher peak) was earlier in 1983, when "I Gotta Try" by Michael McDonald peaked at #17 on R&R, but petered out at #44 on the Hot 100.

Beats me why 'Affair' was chosen as 1 of the OEs, since it debuted on the chart, the next week.

Beats me why 'Affair' was chosen as 1 of the OEs, since it debuted on the chart, the next week. This was discussed on the previous page when Mike announced the optional extras for the week. AT40 was guest-hosted the week "Affair Of The Heart" debuted in the Hot 100, and it entered the Top 40 the week after that. Premiere apparently wanted "Affair Of The Heart" to be available for use as an optional extra, but due to the circumstances discussed in the previous sentence, there is no week that the song would be used under normal procedure. So Premiere backed up a week and used it as an optional extra for the week before it debuted on the Hot 100. They did something similar with Madonna's "Causing A Commotion" a couple of years ago.

Premiere COULD'VE gone with OTHER songs that were headed for the 40, though.

Bob Eubanks has been so well known, that Premiere CAN run his guest-hosted shows. Nobody'd mind.

Bob Eubanks has been so well known, that Premiere CAN run his guest-hosted shows. Nobody'd mind. Given the precedent of how other guest hosts shows have been run, I think Bob would mind. A lot.

All I know is, the Gary Owens-hosted rerun, was very well received.

All I know is, the Gary Owens-hosted rerun, was very well received. So was the Dick Clark one, but both were only played as one time specials after the hosts passed away, something that thankfully hasn't happened to Bob yet.

All I know is, the Gary Owens-hosted rerun, was very well received. It was very well received by AT40 fans. The fact that between the 70s and 80s series have hundreds of affiliates and four decided to run it - all programmed by AT40 fans - shows that the idea of guest hosts isn't necessarily something that most stations have an interest in.

As the week progresses, if anyone would happen to learn what stations may be airing the 'B' (1985) show next weekend, may I impose on you to post an update if and/or as possible?
Thanks so much!!

You all (well, most of you) thought Def Leppard would have an extra this week, eh? Well, you're all wrong. Casey led into "Poison Arrow" by making note of the city of Sheffield, England, home of ABC and Human League. Maybe that intro should have waited for another show, as starting the following week Def Leppard could have been added to the list. (Joe Cocker could also have been mentioned.)

Shall we throw another guest host into the will they play his shows discussion? Maybe not. Anyway, Dave Roberts hosted on April 12, 1986 and that is the show for me this evening. I can't wait and did not have to wait long for one of my faves from Nu Shooz as they were at #36. Dave spelled out their name.
