For those who want to hear the 81 show SWR FM is getting ready to air it although they've mentioned they'd air the "B" show before but aired the "A" show instead.

Here's the pump & dump for 4/6/85 I'll start with 4 that did better at rock radio than Top 40. 1. The Cars "Why Can't I Have You" 2. Greg Kihn "Lucky" 3. The Firm "Radioactive" (Still like it better than the Imagine Dragons song with the same name) 4. Eric Clapton "Forever Man" Finally a song that underperformed because I think people were getting tired of "Purple Rain" Prince & The Revolution W/ Apollonia "Take Me With U" I'm going to be honest I can't really pick a dump song the closest would be USA For Africa's "We Are The World" but since the old countdowns are about the only times you hear it on the radio I'll pass on it.

It's going the way of I-Heart Radio ....just playing repeats all the time now. To be fair, as I said above, the 85 show was the second-ever show played in the 80s series. It also hasn't been played since. So probably for the vast majority of us, it'll be new.

Optional extra predictions for the 4/6/85 show:
* "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" by Tears For Fears * "Alex F" by Harold Faltermeyer * "Things Can Only Get Better" by Howard Jones * "Fresh" by Kool & The Gang
Regarding repeats... There aren't that many new April shows available. The only new shows available are 4/5/80 and 4/12/80; 4/18/81; 4/9/83; 4/4/87; and 4/2/88. 4/9/83 is a possibility for the second weekend of April, and 4/18/81 is possible for the third weekend. Since these shows started re-airing in April 2007, we're now in the ninth year of these shows being available so we're going to hear more repeats as a result.
Now, May... 12 new shows are available with at least one new show from every year except 1985... we could hear a few new shows in May.

Could somebody tell me which stations run the B shows of the '80s? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

So far in 2015, they've played for new shows: 1/31/87 2/12/83 2/16/85 3/1/86 3/17/84 And the following repeats are from 2010 or earlier, which as Mike says, means they're new to the majority of listeners: 1/15/83 1/21/84 3/13/82 3/22/80 Add to it, that we're now into year 8 of the series--the number or shows that aren't repeats are getting to be a pretty exclusive group.

Could somebody tell me which stations run the B shows of the '80s? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. I think we (and, frankly, the stations themselves) are still trying to figure that out. Some of the posts above this one mention stations that people think might play this week's 1981 show, based on what they've played other weeks. In addition to the stations mentioned in the posts above this one, KOLA has also aired some "B" shows, but they are running the 1987 "A" show this week. Given their tendency to avoid 1987-88 shows as much as possible, KOKZ may run 1981 tomorrow morning, although they have been known to run shows from as late in time as early 1987. Many '80s affiliates seem to be just automatically running the "A" show, even if the "B" show would seem to fit their usual playlist better. My local affiliate, WSRS, has an "80s to today" format in which they play very little music from the early '80s, largely picking up around the time the charts came to be dominated by what people today think of as stereotypically '80s music (i.e., the MTV/Second British invasion). But on two recent occasions when there was an "A" show from 1982 and 1980, respectively, with a "B" show available from later in the decade, they have run the "A" show. This despite the fact that there were probably few songs in the '82 show, and virtually none in the '80 show, that they play regularly.

Though I have the originals whatever source in mp3s I would choose KOOL , KOKZ , WRIP, WTOJ, WODC To get opt songs and better mastering quality. I did use KODM before they drop it.
