Predictions for extras:
Smuggler's Blues - Glenn Frey Things Can Only Get Better - Howard Jones Axel F - Harold Faltermeyer Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
I still don't understand why 1985 needs an alternate show.

One thing I remember from when the 87 show aired in 2010 - Donna Allen kicks off the countdown (well, The 40) at #40. The next 87 show to air that year was 5/23. Guess who kicked off that week's survey?

And the following repeats are from 2010 or earlier, which as Mike says, means they're new to the majority of listeners: Seems like there's quite a few of us still around (myself included) who've been listening to these since at least 2008 or later in 2007 - case in point, of this year's repeats, only 3/22/80 and now 4/6/85 are "new" ones to me; I heard all the rest the first time. But indeed, the later and later joiners have also been increasing.

With all the people that have not been listening to the shows since the series started and the fact that even those that have will probably not remember much if anything from a show heard 6,7,8 years ago, I don't see this series ending when the last new show is played. Now if popularity plummets, that would cause it to end. But the two issues are unrelated and one does not necessarily lead to the other.

Hmmmmm. Apparently nobody saw fit to slap the updated ending credits on this repeat (as has been done with other repeats of Larry Morgan-announced shows, if I'm not mistaken).

So other than WTOJ today and MAYBE KOKZ or WTIC tomorrow, do we have any other confirmed 1981 leads? Thanks....

Especially when the alternate is from just one year earlier. If they really think stations want something different from 1985, then why not 4/2/88 (never played) or 4/3/82 (the earliest year not offered in the last two weeks)?

Hence my point yesterday about this possibly coming down to looking at straight year numbers alone (and not even thinking beyond that, if at all).

Rewind 103.9 was listed as playing the 70s and instead they were playing the 80s show and The Jets were playing..I was going to type that they left show because they just played 3 songs that had nothing to do with AT 40 but as I was typing the show resumed at # 20 with Steve Winwood-strange

Guess who kicked off that week's survey? Right--I haven't listened to this show, but have listened to 5/23/87 and remember that Miss Allen did make a stop at #40 on that show before exiting the countdown...
