I imagine they aren't playing 9/22 because they just played that last year Right--very rare that Premiere plays the same show two years in a row these days. The only time I remember that happening in the last five years was when they aired the 12/14/74 show in 2011 and again in 2012. I personally don't have a problem if they don't totally adhere to airing shows in line with the current date.

I dont mind probably a six day buffer before or after the current weekend, but the idea is the top 40 songs THIS WEEK in whatever year. a nearly full two weeks is a little much for me. Though this playing a show two weeks behind raises the question why they decided to do 1984 anyway. they could have played 9/19/87 which played last in 2011. Though my money is on 9/26/87 this week (last played in 2010, and the most recent 87 show was in July).

I'm looking for a cue sheet for the 9-22-86 show and I don't see it.

Not often this happens but there are five future #1 moving up the Hot 100 but hadn't made their appearance on AT40 yet. I'll pick four of them for 9/27/86 optional extras:
* "You Give Love A Bad Name" by Bon Jovi * "Amanda" by Boston * "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby & The Range * "Walk Like An Egyptian" by The Bangles
"The Next Time I Fall" by Peter Cetera & Amy Grant is the fifth future #1 below the Top 40.

I hate when the edit Lets Go Crazy!!!! The totally butcher the intro, I hate that. i think this has been discussed here before, not sure where (probably "edits on AT40" or something). i don't see why they couldn't have either cut prince saying "electric word life..." or "if d-elevator tries..." and left in the music. maybe they didn't have access to the multi-track tape (if that's how they recorded it) or prince wouldn't let them cut either line. in the latter was the case maybe the awful edit was a sort of protest by the label.

IIRC, the version of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" that was typically played on AT40 with the beginning part chopped was the version that was most typically played on the radio at the time. I remember when that song was out being pleasantly surprised on any of the rare occasions that our local top 40 stations played the full version of the song.

It's good we're getting one new show in September 2014 for a change. This was the last chance for a new show this month, and after hearing endless repeats since the middle of August, our wishes are granted. Not to mention that 1986 was my most favorite year for top 40 music.
My predictions for optional extras for the 1986 show next weekend:
"Love Will Conquer All" by Lionel Richie "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby & The Range "Amanda" by Boston "The Next Time I Fall" by Peter Cetera & Amy Grant

What a treat! On the 9-8-84 show, the album version of 'Lucky star' was played.

Am I wrong, or was the Progressive commercial with Flo on kazoo, originally produced without the background music? I seem to remember that it was.

What I can't understand is, guys, why the line 'Who's gonna come around, when you shake?', is very much mumbled in 'Drive'? Could somebody let us know? Thanx, in advance.
