April Fool's Day 1989!! ;D Is it that show for both of those? I know it is for the #1 jingle, I remember seeing that posted here previously. I strongly think the episode in question is from April Fool's Day 1990, not 1989. I think the #1 jingle was played just before #20 was revealed, and I believe Bad English or some band had a hit that week with The Price of Love.

Also, I believe he used #39 for the 1986 summer special. Maybe someone can confirm this. OK, sorry to bump this thread, but just started listening to the Giants of Rock and Roll Special from 7/5/86...and yes, RNH you are correct - the #39 jingle was used in this show prior to Casey's intro leading into the medley of Holland-Dozier-Holland songs.

I believe you will find the #39 jingle in the 11/6/71 show with guest host Dave Hull. It was used to bring in "Got to be There" by Michael Jackson.

Unless I was hearing things, I could of sworn I heard a recent 1986 broadcast aired this fall with the #39 jingle being played. Was there a #39 jingle played on October 18, 1986?

Really a rarity for a #39 jingle to be played on December 14, 1985 - seeing it was my birthday that day!

Bumping this thread for a good reason...
I discovered there is another episode with the rarely heard #39 jingle: June 30, 1984.
If my math is correct, there were two episodes in 1984 that used the #39 jingle. I wonder if 1984 may be in the running for having the most #39 jingles used in a single calendar year?

Just heard the #39 jingle played on the 5-5-79 show. And I believe history repeated itself. Ithe also happened on May 5 five years later in 1984.

And I believe history repeated itself. Ithe also happened on May 5 five years later in 1984. Well unless it was somehow edited out, it in fact did NOT happen in the 84 show; just cleared that point now...and no jingle. ETA: We've had #40, #38, AND #37 - but no #39. I suspect that THIS was in fact remembered wrong, and that it was/is instead May 12, not the 5th, that has the #39.
