Based on interest from CRZ108 and other fans, I decided to start a thread that identifies program dates that have used the infrequently used Number 39 jingle. (I'll update when I locate a lost partial list.) Feel free to add to this when you hear it used. Thanks! *July 11, 1970 (chart date; first show) *December 14, 1985 *August 4, 1990 By the way, I tried to locate a similar thread here but it seemed like a time consuming project. Sorry if one already exists!

I loved number jingles (especially from the 70's) and always wished someone (including myself) would have taken the time to log them as we listened to programs over the years. It would be great to have a thread similar to pizzzza's radio station thread where jingles are logged in one thread/one post with the continous help of everyone on the message board. It would certainly be easier to maintain than the radio station thread since you can only add information to the jingles thread. No updates or removals.
If no one (including you Pete since you inspired the idea) wants to offer to take that thread and run with it, perhaps I could give it a shot (although I don't visit here as much as I would like).

The 8/4/90 is the only show during Shadoe's era to play the #39 jingle.

The 8/4/90 is the only show during Shadoe's era to play the #39 jingle. There was a reason for it this week, though...read here: www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/08-05-90.pdf^ This was the story related to me on the Pulse board yesterday after I posted for '85, and subsequently I passed it along to Pete.

I can give it a start - it probably wouldn't be till I've gone through my collection so far and logged everything from those. If I start a thread now, it probably won't have much, just FYI. After that I will definitely need help, since my collection is far from extensive.

Alright, here we go fellow #39 nerds!
First of all, Shadoe did include the #39 jingle (the faster) on the 1993 year-end countdown, so August 5, 1990 was not the only one.
For Casey's shows, here is what I can confirm so far. Including the one replayed this past weekend, Casey used the similar #39 jingle for June 23, 1984 and May 17, 1986. I have yet to hear the "chord" #39 usually reserved for softer songs.
Also, I believe he used #39 for the 1986 summer special. Maybe someone can confirm this.
May 10, 1980 had the "synthosized" #39 jingle and September 25, 1982 had the "unsynthosized."
Going back to June 19, 1971 Casey played the faster #39 jingle.
For June 19, 1971, May 10, 1980, and June 23, 1984, there was no #40 jingle played that week!
Would love to hear a 1973 #39 jingle if one exists!

I was only looking at weekly shows! To make up for it, consider this. Excluding year-end and special shows (Book of Records, etc), a #40 jingle (normal or special) was played on each Shadoe show but 1. Which show was it? Also, the sung #1 jingle was also played on a show once.

I think lots of people may already be able to fill in quite a bit of details. Definitely information that should be included in Pete's next book!

The '84 I know I missed, I can remember hearing the beginning of that show in my car that day, but I had to step out for a bit and thus missed #39 entirely. But the other two...how did I miss those? I have not heard either the 5/17/86 nor the '86 special shows, though. ^^Oops you're right. I was only looking at weekly shows! To make up for it, consider this. Excluding year-end and special shows (Book of Records, etc), a #40 jingle (normal or special) was played on each Shadoe show but 1. Which show was it? Also, the sung #1 jingle was also played on a show once. April Fool's Day 1989!! ;D Is it that show for both of those? I know it is for the #1 jingle, I remember seeing that posted here previously. Starting it with simply just the #39 information wouldn't be a bad start since it has to start somewhere. I think lots of people may already be able to fill in quite a bit of details. Definitely information that should be included in Pete's next book! Oh...alrighty then. I'll have the thread started sometime today. ther was another earlier in 84 that had one. i cant look it up right now but as i recall, slade' was at number 39. and the band real life was at number 40. and there was a #40 gingle as well. casay answered a question letter b4 #39 May 5, 1984, with "Against All Odds" played first as last week's #1. (Linked the cue sheet.) Of course, we're still waiting for that one.

I uploaded my compilation of number jingles couple years ago. I believe this is the link: oblivion.quadspeedi.net/~eddie/numjingles.mp3 Of course no reference as to which countdown I pulled them from, an its not complete, allthough I think I have every number from 62 to 1 except #44, havent been able to find that one. Most are from CT40 an AT40's 2nd run. I started to do an 80s version when AT40 flashback came about, but never finished it.
