Whatever happened to...? (May 14, 1988) - Sly 96 FM San Luis Obispo, CA - I assume this is KSLY, which is now Country.
- FM 107 KROC Rochester, MN - Still an affiliate at least a year later (4/8/89).
- "The Rock of New Orleans" WRNO New Orleans, LA - Same story.
- All Hits Power 105 KPQ Hornell, NY - WKPQ obviously; this past October 11, they flipped to Country. A previous "Freedom 105.3" logo suggests they weren't flipping from Top 40, however.
- Z96 & 1/2 WAZY Lafayette, IN - Flipped to Hot AC in 1995, lost the Hot in the fall of 2000, then went back to Top 40 on March 16, 2001 - and still have it today (though they don't appear to have the current show, however).
- KACI AM/FM The Dalles, OR - The FM is now an Oldies station, while the AM is News Talk Information. Oddly, the AM also simulcasts on 103.9 FM. With mentions of D'Shadoe this weekend, I'll add that this station would still be an affiliate at least through 1992.
- FM 97 & 98 KCRF Lincoln City/Newport, OR - Now a Classic Rocker, and now at 96.7 as well. No idea when they moved.
- FM 99 KRLB Lubbock, TX - Now KQBR. They were contemporary Country until just last week on the 5th, when they flipped to "Blake FM". You guessed it, it's a Country-fied Jack FM.
- Caldwell's Music 1340 WJRI Lenoir, NC - Now News/Talk.
BONUS: Written on the cue sheet right below #1 is, "WIBW FM Topeka 97 fun! " They're now Country, and moved to 94.5 in 2000. Their studios were also heavily damaged in a fire on January 5.

Well, here's the stations I do have. Still waiting to hear on the missing second hour stations. Wait no further. There were no mentions as it turned out. When I listened three years ago, I thought they may have been edited out as it has actually happened twice (the 1/14/1984 show and the 6/4/1983 show). However when I obtained a regular copy of said show and listened entirely, I heard no stations mentioned. Rare indeed.

Did you (or Casey) mean KLID in Poplar Bluff, Missouri? There's no town in Maryland with that name, and if there were the radio call letters would begin with a W. (For the record, I sometimes write out my address with a unintentionally rounded looking capital D that to some could pass for an O, causing confusion between MO and MD.)
And speaking of Maryland radio stations, WKIK, which I've also heard Casey cite in a May or June 1983 show, is now a country station, broadcasting on both AM and FM.

- KHIG, Jonesboro AR - mentioned on the 11/11/1972 show and (according to this post) the 4/8/1989 show when they were known as KDXY.
5/11/1974: - WKEE, Huntington WV - mentioned on the following shows: 2/10/1979, 2/23/1980, 12/4/1982 and 1/14/1984 (I have a feeling we'll be hearing this station mentioned again on either the 5/19/1984 or 5/21/1977 shows.)
- WLNC, Laurinburg NC - mentioned on the 11/11/1972 and 4/28/1979 shows

WPGC, one of AT40's first seven affiliates, was mentioned by Casey about 40 times from 9/19/70 to 1/29/83 (the show then moved to WRQX until 1991). Here's a page from a tribute site to WPGC's top 40 days, with clips of Casey's citations of it. www.amandfmmorningside.com/wpgc_miscellaneous_audio.html

Was the last segment in the second hour really three songs, as we heard this past weekend? Breaking it down, here's how Hour #2 initially played out. #1: "Foolish Beat", "One Good Reason" #2: "We All Sleep Alone", "Girlfriend" (teaser story) #3: "Make It Real" #4: "Devil Inside", "The Search Is Over" (LDD) #5: "Strange But True", "Pamela" (in between songs was a correction to Top 40 songs used in TV shows) #6: "Circle In The Sand" You can check this cue sheet for confirmation: www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/05-14-88.pdfI guess the jingles following Part 5 and leading into Part 6 were spliced. EDIT: Shadoe Fan confirmed what I've just posted.

I guess the jingles following Part 5 and leading into Part 6 were spliced. The cue sheet was the reason why I'd suspected there was splicing done there. ----- Expect a double-week posting from me this coming weekend, for I have the CVD-hosted 5/26 show that can be added to Premiere's airing 5/19.

Long post ahead. First, this week's double duty: Whatever happened to...? (May 19, 1984) - WUFF Eastman, GA - An AM/FM combo, and both are Country today, except on Sundays, when they're Gospel. The FM moved from 97.5 to 92.1 in 1992.
- WAZY Lafayette, IN - Why yes, we just heard this one last week!
- WKLA Ludington, MI - There's an AM and an FM, but the FM had separated by this point. They were, and still are, AC.
- WBT Charlotte, NC - An affiliate since at least 4/19/75.
- WAAY Huntsville, AL - This would be the year that they'd become the first station to broadcast in AM stereo in Huntsville. They'd be sold in April 1989 and flipped to Gospel as WAAJ (the station was required to change call letters for some reason). Four years later they'd change calls to WLOR, which they still have today. Format-wise, however, they'd flip to Urban AC in July 2002 and then take on Scott Shannon's "True Oldies" programming in June 2008, which they still run today. It's worth noting, however, that owners Black Crow Media Group are currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, and WLOR's license is in the process of transfer to Southern Stone Communications - approved by the FCC this past December 19, now awaiting formal consummation.
- WAYC Bedford, PA - Flipped to being a Religious station, most likely sometime during the 90s. In the early part of that decade, they moved from 1600 to 1310 on the AM dial, but moved back in 1999.
- Magic 107 Portland, OR - See 5/11/85, on the previous page.
- WFGN Gaffney, SC - Another one that's now a Religious station.
- KOGA Ogallala, NE - There's both an AM and an FM station today. At this point, it was the AM carrying the show. They're a "Middle of the Road"/Adult Standards station today, though I suppose they could have been so back in '84 as well. At some point later on, however, the show moved over to the FM, and the FM would be carrying the show into the Shadoe Stevens era, at least through early 1991. Due to their later billing as "The Lite FM", my guess is they were either AC or had more-or-less the same format as the AM. In any case, they've since separated, and the FM is now a Classic Rocker today.
New to the American Top 40 family this week: - KXLE Ellensburg, WA - There's an AM and an FM, but the FM is said to have been a Rock station at this time, so I'm thinking just the AM carried the show. The AM was an AC station, but now they're a News/Talk/Information station.
- WSMY Roanoke Rapids, NC - Now Gospel.
Whatever happened to...? (May 26, 1984) - WKXY Sarasota, FL - Now WLSS, a conservative News/Talk.
- KSTC Sterling, CO - An AM/FM combo, both MOR stations at this time. The AM is now an Oldies station, while the FM would become KNNG and carry the show solo in later years, before going Country.
- WNVA Norton, VA - Here's another station that would carry the show into the Shadoe Stevens era - at least up to 1992. An AM/FM combo, and this one's a bit confusing. The FM's page says they're currently Full Service, while the AM's page says they're currently Classic Country, and the FM's page suggests they're still simulcasting despite two different formats. Confusing matters further, the FM's page also says that on December 28, 2008 was the format change to classic country, and on July 15, 2010 was a format change to Hits & Favorites (from Citadel Media). Anyone live close enough and can check these stations to help figure this one out? They're 1350 AM, 106.3 FM.
- KRXL Kirksville, MO - They had a power of 52,000 watts until 1986, when they upped to 100,000. An AC station carrying the show, until the end of the 80s, when they flipped to Classic Rock, which they still have today. They also appear to be down in power a bit, down to 90,000.
- WQTC Two Rivers, WI - Now Classic Hits.
- WNBX Keene, NH - They'd flip to WKNE the following May, and these days, they're a Hot AC station. They have two translator frequencies, on 99.1 and 103.1 (the main station is on 103.7).
- WPLJ New York City - We heard from them on another CVD-hosted show, 11/1/86.
- WKCM Hawesville, KY - Now Country.
- WECQ Geneva, NY - Flipped to WFLK on June 3, 1993, possibly also the date they went Country.
- KAYN Nogales, AZ - Had to do some digging to find this one; they were an AC station carrying the show, and moved from Nogales to Vail (a Tucson suburb) in 2005. They're KRDX, an Oldies station, today. Notably, today this station operates solely on solar panels and wind turbines - and the only way to access its transmitter is by helicopter. In 2006, they filed a request with the FCC to operate at less than licensed power due to the erratic nature of operating this way - which the FCC accepted, but did not approve. In 2010, they filed another request, this time to move from 98.5 to 103.7, in order to end longtime interference with 98.3 KOHT (which has higher power) - that request is still pending.
Now, as it pertains to when I'll be posting future weeks' stations. That will depend solely on when I get a window of free time based on my work schedule on a given week. Now, seeing as next week is a special, next week won't matter. However, I do have the regular 5/28/88 countdown from last year's airing, and I can compile and post that at any time. On other weeks, however, I'll post what my work schedule looks like for a given weekend. If someone else wants to compile and post them if I have to work, be my guest. Otherwise, some weeks might have to wait until a few days after the show airs.

- WLNC, Laurinburg NC - mentioned on the 11/11/1972 and 4/28/1979 shows
I haven't had the time to look up the rest of the stations, but I will find some time in the next couple of days to do them. I promise that future station lists (starting with this week's 1977 show) will be done a lot quicker.

On AT40 August 27, 1988 Shadoe mentions Radio Reus FM, Reus, Spain as an AT40 station, just before Sign your name by Terence Trent D'arby in at number 14.

“in 50 states and around the world on great radio stations like…” I recently joined the board so I don’t know if this is the exact thread. But does anybody know what was the 50th and the very last state that added the original AT40 during the 1970s. Also I was always curious to know what the first overseas station was that carried the show (excluding of course the forces radio in May 1971.
