Here's something interesting: KWIC played "One Less Set Of Footsteps", an Optional Extra from one of NEXT week's shows instead of "Spill The Wine", which was the first OE in the 1978 show (since it was a regular extra in the original show).
EDIT: They did it again at the end of Hour 2 - instead of Neil Sedaka's 1976 cover of "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", they played "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" by Vicki Lawrence.
Only time will tell if, in Hour 3, we hear "Baby Hold On" by Eddie Money or "I'm Doing Fine Now" by New York City.

The Chase - Giorgio Moroder Blow Away - George Harrison Heart Of Glass - Blondie Take Me Home - Cher

For 1979, the only clue that I am able to give is that the three Archives will stay put - none of them are optional. I'll go with: "Take Me Home" "Blow Away" "Shake Your Body" "Bye Bye Love"

AMFMDX... Since you know what shows are being aired for the year, would you care to post the 2016 calendar of shows here? JUST KIDDING! People here would get really upset if you posted the full calendar here... but you have given us an interesting clue in that 50% of the shows for both the 70s and 80s will be new shows. Slightly over 50%, actually, if my math is correct. I learned that lesson a few years ago! ;-) But I do know from talking to Toby Petty at Premiere that by the end of the year, just about every AT40 will have aired. Two more new shows this week!

Looking forward to getting 3/3/79 and 3/6/82 this week. 1st time we'll hear these two shows since they originally aired.

No one guessed more than two correct this week. But all four extras were guessed. This week's extras are: "Take Me Home" - Cher "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)" - The Jacksons "Roxanne" - The Police "Heart Of Glass" - Blondie And as I have not been told of the removal of "Bye Bye Love", don't expect Premiere to bid it bye bye from the show.

When someone guessed "Bye Bye Love", I thought they were talking about the album cut by the Cars. Had no idea that the Everly Brothers song was an countdown extra.

I wonder if either the 3/10/73 show this week or 2/10/73 from last month was a last-minute replacement. Two of the three Optional Extras are the same-"One Less Set Of Footsteps" and "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia". I realize they usually don't replace Optional Extras from repeats anymore unless they were pre-Larry Morgan and that they figure most stations won't play the B show but it still seems strange.
As for the 1979 Optional Extras I won't mind if the station on which I listen to the first hour doesn't play the OE. The only "Take Me Home" song I would like to hear is the one by Genesis-and I don't know why anybody would want to take Cher home either!

Great set of extras (except for the first hour--no time for Cher). Premiere must really like "Roxanne"--they also used that one as an extra on the 3/17/79 show in the last few years...

To be a contrarian, I'd rather hear "Take Me Home" before any of the other three, simply because it is by far the least heard today of the four. Plus, I still remember Cher in that Wagnerian Valkyrie outfit she wore on the LP cover...

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 3/11/72 2nd Guess - 3/8/75
Almost seems like a slam dunk. We've yet to get 1972 as an 'A' show in 2016 and though 3/11/72 has been played before, the last time was 2007. Good 'B' show candidates might be 1975 (either 3/8 or 3/15), 3/13/76 or 3/12/77...

OOPS! Just listening to this weekend's show from March 3, 1979 and heard Casey announce Suzi Quatro "...movin' way up from 30 to 37....". LOL! Surprised no one caught that. The song was actually moving from #37 to #30 that week. I also hate the production of AT40 during this period. Just about every song is either cut off or the AT40 jingles aren't even finished playing when they start the next song. This era of AT40 always seemed very sloppy to me.
