This is an easier week for a triple play, with two countdowns from the same year (1970), though I'm assuming for different weeks. Putting those together with 1984 produces triples for Tina Turner and the Jackson 5/Jacksons, plus as a bonus Jermaine Jackson has a solo hit. I know The Jacksons had a hit with Mick Jagger with the song "State of Shock", and Jermaine Jackson had a hit called "Dynamite", but the triple play wouldn't happen until August 25, 1984 when "Torture" by The Jacksons debuted on AT40. Sad that we won't be hearing August 25, 1984 this year.

Three artists have songs on both 1976 and 1987: (Jefferson) Starship, Fleetwood Mac and the Beach Boys.
It's hard to tell whether any of these will have a song on the Sirius XM show, so we'll wait and see what they do.

Three artists have songs on both 1976 and 1987: (Jefferson) Starship, Fleetwood Mac and the Beach Boys. It's hard to tell whether any of these will have a song on the Sirius XM show, so we'll wait and see what they do. Unfortunately, none of them were in the 1973 show SXM ran. For this week, we have four shows, from 1971, 75, 78, and 82. But nobody scores a potential quadruple play. Olivia Newton-John and Robin Gibb have triple plays with songs in all three 70s countdowns, but neither is in the 80s show.

This weekend will feature 1975, 1977, 1981, along with the 10/05/74 Top Producers of the 70's show -- based on information gathered from other threads on this site. While there are no quadruple plays here, Helen Reddy scores a triple play for her appearances in the 1975, 1977 and 1974 special AT40's .

This weekend we get four shows: 1970, 1972, 1979, and 1986. No quadruple plays, but I came up a triple from Peter Cetera: he had hits with Chicago in the 1970 and 1972 shows, plus a solo hit in 1986. And if LDD's count, Elton John has one in the 1986 countdown in addition to hits in 1972 and 1979.

For the w/e of 9/22-9/23, it appears that 1973 (9/22/73), 1978 (9/23/78) and 1980 (9/20/80) will be featured. And, we have a triple play with the Rolling Stones: "Angie" from 1973; "Beast of Burden" PLUS "Miss You" from 1978; and "Emotional Rescue" from 1980.

This week, we have a triple play from the Beach Boys: "Surfin' USA" is #36 on 9/28/1974 and "It's OK" is #32 on 9/25/1976, plus "In My Room" is an LDD on 9/28/1985.

Four countdowns this week: 1972, 1978, 1979, and 1987. Michael Jackson appears in all four, by virtue of a Jackson 5 Archives extra in the 1978 show; he has solo hits in the other three.

Once again, there are four countdowns (including SXM) this weekend: 10/16/71; 10/13/73; 10/12/74; and 10/17/81. There are two triple plays, each by the Osmonds and Stevie Wonder across 1971, 1973 and 1974 .

For this week, it looks like 10/30/76, 10/28/78, and 10/30/82. Chicago and Linda Ronstadt both have songs in all three.
Incidentally, Lionel Richie, Stevie Nicks, and Hall & Oates have doubles that would be triples if hits of theirs (solo, group, and/or duo) had held on one week longer or debuted one week earlier than they did.

With four AT40 shows this weekend, there are two triple plays across the board: The Doobie Brothers (11/04/72, 11/03/73 and 11/01/80) and Stevie Wonder (11/03/73, 11/02/74 and 11/01/80). FYI: 1973 is the SXM show.

This week has 11/12/77, 11/10/79, and 11/12/83. And following up on the above quote, Lionel Richie and Stevie Nicks have triple plays; the Commodores and Fleetwood Mac appear in both 70s shows, and both artists have solo 1983 hits.

Stevie Wonder has a triple play this week: 1973 has Living For The City, 1974 has Boogie On Reggae Woman and 1985 has Part Time Lover, plus Stevie also appears on the Dionne & Friends single That's What Friends Are For.
Similarly, Gladys Knight also gets a triple play thanks to her appearance on That's What Friends Are For; along with the Pips, she's on 1973 with Midnight Train To Georgia and 1974 with I Feel A Song (In My Heart).
Honourable mention goes to Ringo Starr; he has solo songs in 1973 (Photograph) and 1974 (Only You), plus a Beatles song (In My Life) is an LDD in the 1985 show... however, he didn't do the lead vocal on that. John Lennon did - and he also has songs in the 1973 (Mind Games) and 1974 (Whatever Gets You Thru The Night) shows, thereby giving him the triple play.
