We lost one of the great songwriters in pop music history last week.
Lee Hazlewood wrote classics like "The Fool for Sanford Clark, "Forty Miles of Bad Road",and "(Dance With) The Guitar Man" for Duane Eddy, and "Houston" for Dean Martin to name a few.
Of course he was best known for his writing and duets with Nancy Sinatra. Hazlewood wrote "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" and "Sugar Town" and joined Sinatra on their six charted singles "Sand", "Down from Dover", Summer Wine", "Jackson", "Lady Bird", and "Some Velvet Morning."
Hazlewood had a minor chart hits with Ann-Margret with "Sleep in the Grass", on his own with "Trouble Maker", and with the group The Shacklefords with "A Stranger in Your Town."
Hazleton was 78.
