We all know that Ryan Seacrest currently works at KIIS-FM (102.7) in Los Angeles, in addition to his hosting duties on American Top 40 and American Idol. I would like to know, did Casey ever work at any radio stations after becoming host of AT40 back in 1970?

In the 70’s , Casey would probably have no more time to host a radio gig as he primarily concentrated on his AT40 shows and his acting and voiceover work (as Shaggy and Robin). The complete list can be found here www.imdb.com/name/nm0440487/but not included there is the voiceover promo stint he did with the NBC network in 1973-74 and his yearly Labor Day appearances in Jerry Lewis's Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Also missing in the lists is his voiceover stint with Bob Barker’s The Price Is Right. Yep, before Rod Roddy, Casey was there first! www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/TV/10/28/obit.roddy.ap/

The cnn.com article actually says that Casey was the first announcer on Soap, not The Price Is Right.

I believe that it was 1980 or 1981 when Casey hosted a one-time, one-hour, live radio show on KRLA, in observance of a station anniversary. I remember hearing a recording of this broadcast with Casey stating on the air that the experience had made him nervous -- it had been a long time since he had been in front of a live microphone. (10-12 years, perhaps?) In the typical Casey Kasem style, he told some great stories.

Although it would never happen, I would LOVE to hear Casey come back to do a live broadcast on a station. You figure, that is the only thing he really hasn't done in the last 35 years, live radio.

Pete: That KRLA show was October 1981. I think it is archived on reelradio

He decided it would not be good for his image, so by the time they showed the first episode, Roddy was hosting it. The show is running on Comcast On Demand currently so I have seen them all since episode 1.
