Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famer Denny Doherty of the Mamas & the Papas died today, January 19. He was 66.
That just leaves Mama Michelle.

I read the news that Denny Doherty passed away on Friday. That now officially leaves Michelle Phillips as the only surviving member of the Mamas & the Papas. Cass Elliot died in 1974, and John Phillips died in 2001. For the past few weeks, I have been reading the book, "Dream A Little Dream, The Life of Cass Elliot", and it is a great book, and last year, I made a posting about Casey's tribute to Cass Elliot when American Top 10 did a spotlight segment on acts who have passed away on Memorial Day weekend. Speaking of AT10, on last week's spotlight segment, they did a segment on groups who sang in harmony, and the Mamas & the Papas were one of the groups that were featured, and they played their Top 10 smash from 1966, "California Dreamin". Rest in Peace Denny, and I know that Cass and John will be welcoming you with open arms.
