College Football says goodbye to one of the greatest coaches in the game, Bo Schembechler. He coached the University of Michigan during the 70s and 80s. He made the rivary between Michigan and Ohio State. Remember the Woody Hayes days at Ohio State, it was quite a rivary. He died Friday morning, 11/17. He passed out at WXYZ-TV prior to taping the weekly BIG TEN TICKET show that air on that station. His heart stopped. The timing put a whole new meaning to the Michigan/Ohio State game this weekend. You will be missed BO.

Add me to the list of thousands who will miss Bo.
I had the honor of meeting him back in 1998. In Bowling Green, there was a dedication ceremony to an athletic facility being named in the honor of Chuck Perry, a student Bo successfully recruited as an assitant coach to the great Doyt Perry. Bo was in attendance to see his former student. Knowing Bo was going to be there, I brought along his autobiography (coauthored by Mitch Albom). He was kind enough to shake my hand and sign the bottom of the first picture page in the middle of the book. The picture is of Bo as he looked in 1955. Under the picture it reads, "Doyt Perry took over as head coach at Bowling Green in 1955 and hired the serious, clean-cut young coach you see here."
There is no doubt, that right now, Bo, Woody, Doyt, and many of the great long-time college football coaches are swapping stories on the big gridiron in the sky!

Since Bo has passed away the Michigan football team has yet to win a game. They are 0 wins and 3 losses, since Bo has died.

If Bo was still alive, and saw that game, he would have gone balistic.
