Legendary musician Wilson Pickett died of a heart attack today at age 64: www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/01/19/pickett.obit.ap/index.htmlOn a personal note, I vividly remember in 10th grade when our high school marching band played "In The Midnight Hour", it was one of my favorite songs we played throughout my 4 years in marching band.

I loved "Land of 1000 Dances" and "Mustang Sally", both of which have been covered many times over the years.

Wilson Pickett was also on the very first airing of American Top 40; he was at the #25 position with a remake of the Archies' "Sugar Sugar"!

Bumping this up to suggest an edit to today's entry in the Top 40 Fool Songs countdown. Although a line about his passing has been inserted at the end of the article, the opening paragraph still says that Wilson Picket turns 60 next month.
