When and why did American Top 10 started airing Christmas shows?

There were the Christmas countdowns, and as far as I know on the old AT20 AC show, that is all that was played for years going back to Casey's Countdown. Then as Premiere started having more and more AC stations switch to an All-Christmas format and do so earlier earlier, they started the Christmas shows where there was no countdown leading up to the countdown show for several weeks. 2004 may have been the first year of the shows that just played music, though I am not 100% sure of that.

The first all Christmas music countdown show that I am aware of is the weekend of December 20-21, 2003. That was when AT10 was AT20 AC. AT20 AC also did air a regular countdown show that week. From 2004 onwards, Christmas music countdowns started popping up from November onwards. Prior to 2003, there were no all Christmas countdown shows on CC or AT20 AC.
