Good news...NONE of those songs are included this weekend! Well, "Somewhere Out There" was indeed featured. As were two different "I Will Remember You" songs, by Amy Grant (one of my personal favorites, I might add) and Sarah McLachlan. My bad...I meant to say that none was included as an LDD. Sorry for the confusion. I will say that now that I have heard the show, I agree with Rob...this was one of the best Casey shows...certainly the best AT10 show.

I would like to get my two cents in on the LDD special! Was the show good? Yes! Was it a collectable? Absolutely! Was it perfect? No.
First, I enjoyed the "Letter from Elaina". It was fun to hear Casey as he sounded back then. You could even hear the scratches from the 45!
Second, I enjoyed his compliment of Matt Wilson, who has worked with Casey since the 1970's!
Third, how about hearing "Love Me Tender", a song that does not get any airplay on today's so-called oldies stations!
And lastly, two of the week's LDD's were very well written, and fit in with the meaning of Valentine's Day itself.
However, there were some things I did not like, and here they are.
First, the LDD from Dennis in Ohio was somewhat short and---in my opinion---did not have the same emotion as the other two. It sounded like no work was put in to it and was rushed.
Second, Casey mentions his first LDD, but does not play the song. Would it really have hurt to play "Desiree" by Neil Diamond?
Third, and this one made me cringe! As a teacher, I expect good grammar from my students. I expect even more from a professional like Casey. When talking about Chesily (spelling?) from Washington, D.C. who inspired him, Casey said, "That letter inspired my wife and I to do the same . . ." Shame on you, Casey and staff! You should have said, "That letter inspired my wife and me to do the same . . ." I was very surprised that made to air. Usually Casey is very good about pronouncing name's correctly and saying the right things.
And there you are! I am enjoying reading everyone's thoughts from this past weekend!
By the way, it is possible that "Chesily" is the niece of Fox News' and NPR's Juan Williams. I forgot the name of Williams's niece, but she was one the Fox News Sunday "Power Player of the Week" for her work very similar to the letter Casey read!
Can anyone confirm this? I have had trouble finding out.
Thank you everyone!

I never gave any opinion on this show and had been meaning to post one thing about it. I did enjoy the show, but other than the top 10; it sounded like a show they could begin to use year after year after year and just change the top 10 songs within it. I sincerely hope they do NOT do this!!
