This week's LDD was from me to my fiance...naturally, the New York affiliate screwed up and re-aired last week's show. Can anyone send me an MP3 of the LDD segment from either AT10 or AT20 for this week? I really want my fiance to hear this, and don't want to wait for the copy that I know is in the mail. My email is slakefield@hotmail.com. Thank you all in advance!

Congratulations, Scott!
Talk about both good and bad timing! By the way, Charlie Tuna read the LDD, not Casey, just so you know!
Hope this doesn't disappoint!

Hope you didn't dedicate "I Will Survive"!

No, I know Charlie read the LDD. Casey got sick at the last minute. Can anyone please email me the segment on MP3? I'd be MOST greatful!

"Just You 'N' Me" by Chicago (I listened last night).

Burning question for Scott: Since they used a different song on AT20 ("Amazed" by Lonestar), were you given any choice as to what alternate song they would use? Or did they just pick it without any input from you?

Yes, I picked both songs.
And no, my fiance and I still haven't gotten to hear the LDD since New York's WLTW screwed up and ran last week's show. Augh.
If anyone can send me the LDD segment via MP3, I'd be most greatful. My email address is above.
Thanks!

Scott, do you still need the AT10 one or are you getting it soon?
if so... and if you can tell me approximately where it is in the show.... i can probably edit it out and email it to you.
thanks, shawn

Thank you Nenad, and thank you Premiere Radio Networks...I now have both versions of the LDD.
An interesting side note regarding the earlier post about whether I had selected both songs, since a different one was on each show. The answer, as noted is yes.
My original dedication was "Just You 'N' Me" by Chicago. The AT20 version has the "modified" song request, though I did as noted select that song as well. It's interesting how on the AT20 version they left out the part about how the song says "just how I feel" -- I guess in respect of the fact that it wasn't the song originally chosen, but rather a Hot AC-friendly replacement.
So for those of you who are upset about how LDD selections sometimes need to be changed to fit particular radio formats, this is evidence that the Casey staff DOES make the effort to rewrite the song request part of the LDD where appropriate. In this case, since "Amazed" wasn't the song I originally chose, they left out the part about the song saying "just how I feel" since that song wasn't the one originally selected.

This is interesting insight to LDD's when two songs are played on Hot AC and AC formats. Back on February 5-6, 2006 my LDD to my father aired and I chose the song "Stuck With You" by Huey Lewis. Part of the reason I chose the song was I knew it fit both formats and I'd have greater odds of having the letter read on the air. I wonder if others take this into consideration when writing Casey a long distance dedication?

Best insight/advice I can offer is to do one of two things:
* Choose a song you KNOW (not THINK) works on both formats * Be flexible...give them your first choice, then alternative choices (or just say "If this song doesn't fit for one or both of the shows, please let me know and I will be happy to work with you on choosing a substitute.")
The better the letter...and the more flexible you are on song choice...means, I would presume, a better chance of getting your LDD on.
