Earlier today, I was listening to American Top 10, and on this week's AT10's spotlight segment, they were playing some by deceased singers. They were doing it in honor of Memorial Day weekend. The first song they played in the Spotlight segment was "California Dreamin" by the Mamas & the Papas. Casey did a tribute to Cass Elliot, who was a member of the M & P. He mentioned that Cass was a member of the M & P, had a solo career, and due to her long battle of weight, she died in 1974 at 32 years old. The reason that I'm mentioning this is because I am a longtime Cass Elliot fan, and she is one of my all-time favorite singers. I got the chills when Casey did his tribute to Cass. Also, Cass also made a guest appearance on Scooby Doo, with Casey on that show, as many of us know that Casey was the longtime voice of Shaggy. Casey's tribute to Cass Elliot was another classic Casey Kasem moment.
