On this past weekends American Top 10, Casey called himself, "Casey O'Kasem" as he was during the AT10 spotlight segment on Irish artists.

He did it on AT20 as well....told the story between #16 & #15, right before Green Day...which added an extra twist (green for St. Patricks Day)....but that is usually where a special feature goes, so I think it was just coincidence that Wake Me Up When September Ends happened to be there. The Casey O'Kasem thing gave me a good chuckle....one of the rare and memorable aspects of Casey's shows, that is often found on holiday weekends, the cheesy one liners (I remember a Halloween weekend show when he counted down the "40 Hauntingest Hits in the USA"). Gotta love 'em!!

In a similar vein, though I know it's not the same as above, I like the way he sometimes adjust the phrases used to describe the song movement on the chart, inspired by the name of the act or song, for example. Such as when Counting Crows were parking their Big Yellow Taxi at number..., or Savage Garden was landing softly on the year-end countdown with their musical trip To The Moon And Back. And I can't recall it but was listening to Casey's Top 40 Summer Hits of the 80s recently and I feel like there was something like 40 hauntingest hits, of course in this case related to summer.

This reminds me of an AT40 show he did some years back (can't remember which show it was) where he introduced the #1 song about acts who use only their first names. At the end of the show, Casey credited everyone, including himself, on the show with only their first names. I got a big chuckle over that.
